A couple days ago the check engine oil level light came on. I check the oil level and it was full. The light didnt come back on. Then today oil was gushing out while the engine was running. Could it be the engine oil level sensor? Cracked or something, Thanks.

That light just means the emission levels are too high, doesn't mean there is a big problem,a bad plug wire or even a loose fuel cap will turn on the light,
You might check the pulleys that the serpentine belt runs on. Make sure all are free wheeling and not loose or rough or make noise. You would need to remove the belt to check them.
I had the same problem after 5 months of purchasing a 2011 Edge. The Oil Engine Pressure light comes on and stays on after driving 10 minutes and stopping for gas- it turns off shortly after I start driving again. I had a 2007 Edge as well and never had this problem. I just took the 2011 Edge back to the dealer. They could not duplicate the problem and instead reset all computer settings. The next day the same Oil Engine Pressure light came back on. Anyone out there with any suggestions?
Your "check engine" light is an emission light. Oil is fine. You have to find the code to check whats wrong. Usually an engine light is just a tiny problem, but in other cases it could be anything from a sensor, to a bad cat converter. With a check engine light on a vehicle will not pass smog tests. You can turn it off by unhooking your pos side to the battery for about 3 min. Then you will have to drive it 30 miles non stop for the computer to put the code back in and the light will come back on
You probably just have a bad oil sending unit.Check the oil level first to make sure it is not over full. The sending unit is in the rear of the motor. Not easy to get to but if you look back there with a light you should be able to see it.Hope this helps.Good luck.
CHECK UNDER THE BONNET TO MAKE SURE NO OIL SPLATTERED OR LEAKING AND THE OIL FILTER IS ON PROPERLY CHECK THE OIL LEVEL ALSO IF LEVEL IS OK AND ROUND ABOUT THE ENGINE IS CLEAN IT SHOULD BE OK
Where is the oil sensor located?
