Changing the center motor mount is almost impossible to do with lifting the motor up from the can. I had a 2002 neon and I replaced the other mounts and left the center mount alone. The other new mounts seem to compensate for the bad one. I have been told that the motors are designed to shake a little.
You know going to the dealer for these parts is insane since they want to charge close to $700 for the 4 mounts (3 motor and 1 transmission) You can get all 4 mounts for a 2003-2005 dodge neon 2.0L auto trans for $98 with free shipping and life time warranty. Go to zzautoparts.com - direct link to the parts you need is (CLICK HERE FOR DIRECT LINK)
I found a great 4 piece set for my 2004 Neon included 3 motor mounts and
1 automatic transmission mount for $115. Look at yogiautoparts.com - link for
my part was at http://dodge-car-parts.yogiautoparts.com/20032005_neon_20_engine_automatic_transmission_motor_mount_4x_set_68150.html
There are 4 motor mounts on a Neon. You need a jack to support the bottom of the motor with a block of wood on it. 2 are easily replaceable, but there is one that goes to the middle of the front of the engine that is tricky, plus the transmission mount is accessed after removing several components, like the battery and tray. It may be better to have a professional take care of those "tricky" mounts.
if 2.4l or 2.0 is about the same you will have to pull your balancer pulley then take off the guard around it then loosen the timein tincher then take your timein belt off then you should see your water pump everything is going to be on the side of the motor and probably will have to put a jack up under the motor and take the motor mount off the side of the motor.
