Twstn79, Try checking the fuse and relay located in the power distribution box in the engine compartment. There is a legend on the inside of the cover to tell you which fuse and relay to check. For the relay, just switch it with the horn relay and try the horn to test this. Check the plug at the low pressure switch to see if there is power there. It is the low pressure switch that sends power to the clutch to engage it. If the fuse and relay test good and you have no power at the low pressure switch plug then the problem could be in the wiring and will have to traced. If there is power at this plug then check the switch itself. The switch can be checked with a DVOM meter. Check the switch, with the engine off, for continuity. If you get no reading then the switch will have to be replaced. Another possibility is the switch in the dash panel and/or any associated wiring. Good luck with this.

2007 Dodge 2500 5.9 diesel. When you turn on AC you can see clutch try and engauge and after 3-4 tries it stops. No AC. If drive around for a while AC starts to work after engine heats up?

Working same problem today on my 2006 Mega Cab Diesel. 2 possibilities. Either the compressor clutch coil is going bad ( totally integrated power module tries to engage it a couple of times, senses the coil resistance is wrong and shuts down) or the TIPM (Total Integrated Power Module) is bad. I'm leaning toward clutch on compressor but still have testing to do to isolate. Could be both, but I doubt it. New TIPM is about $900 it appears from what I read. New compressor is cheaper. May be able to replace just the clutch coil for even less but reading mixed results. Good luck.

My ac compressor on my dodge 2500 want engauge?

This could be a few things. The freon could be low, one of the switches (high or low pressure) could be bad, or you could have a bad compressor clutch. You can test the clutch by checking for battery voltage and ground at the two pin connector with the A/C on if you have both power and ground, then the clutch is bad. You really should start by hooking up pressure gauges to the A/C ports to check the pressures, and these vary depending on ambient temperature and whether the A/C compressor is engaged or not. I am willing to bet that the freon is low though and may be just as simple as recharging the system.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

2006 Dodge Ram Mega Cab 1500 4x4 needs AC Improvment Can I upgrade the AC Compressor to get better preformance

Compressor change should have no effect, presuming it is working correctly. Have a qualified shop diagnose the system, there are tons of items involved, pressures, tempratures, heating system, etc. Remember that you are heating OUTSIDE air unless you are using recirculation setting...Hard to lower outside air to cool during the short time that the air is in the evaporator coils.

2007 dodge 5.9 l diesel AC blow hot air we have recharged the system but still no cold air any ideas

does the compressor clutch energize? this can be determined by listening in the engine compartment for the clutch to engage. there will be a clicking sound along with the engine adjusting rpm's for the added load of the compressor. check fuses and relays. if it is not engaging. the low pressure switch also may be faulty. it tells the compressor to turn on when pressure drops. which is normal. you can test it by using a paper clip to jumper the two terminals in the connector. it is located on the same a/c line as the low pressure fill port, between the evaporator, which is in the passenger compartment, and the compressor. if the fuses and relays are good, and the compressor doesn't cycle when the switch is jumped, change the low pressure switch. fuses and relays can be found in the owners manual. if you haven't got one, download one at dodge.com.
