There are really too many things to list that can cause the service engine soon light to come on. I suggest you have your mechanic scan your vehicle to see what codes are present to cause the light to come on.

Service engine soon or check engine light? Engine light needs scanned for codes. Service engine soon is for oil changes and such. To get rid of service lights, turn the key on, press the gas pedal three times within five seconds. The light will flash. turn the key off. it's reset. At least check or change the oil and filter though.
ok if the termostat stay open at all times . good the car dont over heat . but if stay closed then the car over heat ...... but an open termostat keep the engine too cold and the ecu turn on the service soon light .....a full tune up is spark plugs oil oil filter air filter and the most important thing on after 2000 cars the fuel filter if the car run lean can burn the catalyctic convertor and o2 sensors thats expensive beter prevent that and of course put good gas .good luck
I doubt the two problems are connected. I would try a new gas cap and see what happens since it runs fine. The service engine soon light won't reset on it's own right away.
When was your last oil change? Check your gas cap, make sure it clicks when you tighten it. If your car is performing ok don't worry too much. Check all your fluid levels and your air filter
The error that I'm showing for error code P1133 is P1133 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) insufficient switching bank 1 sensor 1(Rear Bank). I would suggest having both of your Oxygen Sensors replaced if you haven't already had that done. Hope this helps. Thanks for an honest rating and for using FixYa.
