SOURCE: OIL COMING OUT EXHAUST MANIFOLD

If oil is coming out of your exhaust manifold you probably have bad piston rings. you can buy a compression tester at auto parts to verify the problem.

SOURCE: 2004 Ram 2500 5.9L H.O.

  • This code comes on when the Boost Pressure Sensor indicated less turbo than the ECM set point.

  • Make sure you have check for any blow off hoses etc. Check inter cooler lines etc. I assume you have but you never know.
  • You may want to pull the inter cooler lines and look at the aluminum retainers. The have been known to collapse. This messes the whole seal up and prevents air flow. This is a very common issue. Cummings is the best Diesel out there but this one little snafu has made many a people scratch their head.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

I have a 93 Geo Prizm I can drive at normal speed for 15-20 minutes then I will immediately lose power and when I mash the accelerator I cant go 5 mph but after the car sits for about an hour it will drive...

lots of things, 1.6L or 1.8L engine?
never tuned up.?
bad spark.?
low fuel pressure (3 causes) {pump, reg or voltage pump low)
ECU sees all major sensor errors, sets the CEL glow driving?
insert the diagnostic jumper and drive with it planted.
then when 5mph happens does the CEL flash an error code?
im just might.
http://www.fixkick.com/PRIZM.html
click the link there Diagnostic jumpers.

car is really a Corolla. !

more?
Map sensor plugged up

the CEL means CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, what does it do?

each cause as simple tests. ask.

Stalling when turn back on

all stalls end in CEL check engine light on. that is normal
but CEL glow. when engine running , means you had a failure, and it stored DTC error codes, so scan it.
lots of causes. huge list.
get a tune up , tops list.

SCAN it to be sure all sensors work. running.
all fuses in car good.
by stalls , i assume the engine stalls and engine RPM is 0 RPM.
the stall cause the whole dash to light up, all the warning lamps come
on (self test) oil , charge , CEL. come on.
what is important is the stall and the cause.

i will tell you the 3 ways.
lost electrical power to engine EFI system (seems not)
bad engine, (lost compression hot)?
bad spark , spark died.?
bad fueling, lost all fueling (starves and stalls or floods and misfires horribly and stalls (black spark plug tips are big time clue)

if non eof the rings a bell.?
get the car serviced.

this car is newer nicer car, you (we) can scan and drive and log data.
allowing faster easy diagnosis.

Jerking accelerating

**** = jeeeerk.....?
no year, stated. wow ! 1993 to present.!
only Jeep GC.
no engine stated. nor transmission option type,?
stalls, all stalls end with the CEL glowing this is NORMAL the CEL
the CEL glows at key on, for self test. and at all stalls.
if you had looked closer at the cluster ,lots of lamps glow , at self test.

the jeerking (spelled wrong to fool the stupid bad words engine)
Jeerking is usually engine gross misfire, or loss of DC 12v electical power to the EFI systems. called DC power loss or battery power lost.
if all lamps in the car work , radio, heater blower, dash lamps all work
then the DC power is ok, Head lights work at STALL.?
it's not the transmission

so its just an engine stall. (RPM was 0, is the big clue there)
engine RPM = 0 is a stall.
cause by gross misfire, The PCM does many things to stop all stalls.
but cant correct gross misfire, it cant.
top reasons on jeeps is....

or the JEEP ASD relay dropped you out)
btw: ever get a tune up this decade or every 60k miles?
if not , why not?

There are all these ways for the ASD relay to drop.
here are all ASD causes.

http://www.fixkick.com/Jeeps/ASD.html

there are tests for each drop logic path..
many are simple, did the SKIM lamp glow?
what I do after a real tune up is.

connect a scan tool and drive.
and bam, communications failure, you lost 12vdc power to the PCM.
bad 12v power. (loose fuses to PCM?) battery cable lugs GREEN?

or you get DTC errors. live or pending or freeze frame seen.
got DTCs?, BINGO.

The PCM even tells you ASD pin errors.
bad ignition coil (s)?
etc.

Revs seem higher than normal in my 2005 Suzuki Swift Sport (3.3rpm in 5th @ 100km/hr) - is this normal? I also have a really high fuel consumption rate

2 issues,
1: MPG, you failed to say MPG, 15mpg? or 39? is 39 low?
what MPG? you never said it?

2: rpm cruise. (what drive line, A/T M/T ?) what tranny?
first google hit , is this it? this yours?
engine: 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol, 75 kW/133 Nm
Transmissions: 5-speed manual, 4-speed automatic, FWD

3300 RPM in 5th and 100km
if you wish to now what is normal, find the final drive ratio, listed in the FSM. Id say this is normal. typical of tiny engines, with low torque.at lower RPMs.

if you have the A/T and IF the trannywere to slip, the TCM will infact throw DTC codes, telling you it did.
IS IT? (scan tools show you this fact as might that glowing CEL lamp on the dash, on driving.

RPM
my 1.6L spins 3000 RPM , at below tranny options valve counts.
54/59mph (104km/hr = 59) 5sp MT.
64.6 4sp A/T (goes fastest due to more aggressive OD + axle ratio is lower.)
56/.53 2sp A/T
see how drive line effects RPM? so will your cars options.

Car accelerates when air conditioning is on

100% normal
most cars raise idle RPM by 200 RPM
100% normal if it was 200.
only at idle. not moving ,ever.

my guess the accelerates means moving. some will use that word for RPM only.
why would any car do that.
answers:
1: ECU?PCM thinks the car is idling
bad TPS sensor or not calibrated.

2: on fly by wire (throttle by wire) the CEL Glows, running, is it> and if yes, why on scan the errors
TBW , has lots of issues, did you read all TSBs on the car, most cars
TBW cars, the TSBs bleed red with issues.
TBW means Throttle by Wire, TSB are trouble bulletins.

when a TBW car has problems, it can go to limphome.
limphome causes out of control idle. and lost engine power
many cars , kill the A.C in limphome. so as not to overheat the engine
or give you more power ,now that 1/2 was lost in limphome.
(passing safety is an issue here)\

so back up

does car dash CEL lamp glow , running engine.and for sure driving
if yes, do not drive car, scan the PCM and find what is wrong.
all cars, 1988 to now. (USA cars have OBD tech)

05 Suzuki XL7 wouldnt sart. Then started and idled up to 3000 rpm and back down. Batt light, air bag light, ck engine light, and 4wd flashing. In reverse it accelerated on its own. Depressed gas pedal in...

id go for chicken feet and blood and voodoo , sessions.....loL

first off, i see an illegal fast idle ,
and all A/T trannys do that, when the engine rpm fraks up.
to move car, due to the stall speed rules of the clutch torque converter (aka ,the fluid clutch) wiki clutch stall speed.

that A/T weakness, is why folks run over kids. (the lame excuse)
starting a car with foot off the brake is , folly, thus the lock all outs called park lock features.

i can not follow your sequence of events.so will ask questions.
1: I start the engine, its don't want to but does. (ever tune it up?)

2: Does the CHECK engine lamp go out (CEL/SES)? running.
for sure, if the engines stalls many lights will glow in the cluster but that is normal, see? for any stall.!
The Charge light comes on anytime the Alternator goes dead
or hits near 0 RPM (stalled)
so are you saying at 3000 rpm, the charge lamp came on.
/??????
battery lamp is not battery, its really a Charge lamp.
the op guide states that too.
on my car I have a battery gauge too, and shows VOLTS.
at idle its 14v. its 14v at all rpm. if less, say so.
I have 2004. GV. with full manuals. even factory FSM. ++++++

ok , in drive, no acceleration, are you saying ,
1: im in A/T drive.
2: the engine is idling at 800 RPM hot or near 1500 cold
3000 is wrong, dead wrong, you in ALASKA, state location(gen)

i increase the RPM with my right foot and the car don't move
in DRIVE
as RPM rises above 1500 RPM, you do have a tacho , i see that.
if it does not move with hgher RPMs, the trans is bad or its TCM is bad.
on your car the TCM is hidden deep inside the PCM. back in 1997.

the PCM runs the engine and tranny today.
if something lies to the TCM/PCM the tranny will not go into drive.
on newer 96+ cars, you see the check engine lamp glow.
running (not stalled, stalling this CEL glows all the time)
but running, the CEL glowing means Faults found, scan me,. please.
eg:
so you scan it, and find DTC's stored (many?) eg.... in english...
the transmission selector switch is bad. or worse.
not using a scan tool ,means ($7 cost) means you miss all the facts. hard cold real facts.
the ECU can not shift any car with a bad selector switch.
so throws the DTC error.
it can be even be a loose selector cable, cave man simple.

recap.
does the CEL lamp stay out running at all times.
no, ? then scan it.
do not post car problems with stored, or pending DTCs on any car newer than 1995. or its just wild guessing.. mostly.

Try replacing Oxygen sensor (top of exhaust pipe just rear of engine; 22mm ring-spanner job after cutting wires); though normally comes up with Code 1 on the MIL, this is the right bunch of symptoms.
