Its the PASSLOCK Security system that is the problem, its shutting down the fuel injectors so a would be burglar can't steal it.You can either replace the ignition key switch or get to the wires coming from the switch in steering column and cut the yellow wire and tape ends. This way the injectors can't be disabled.
check the ignition control module wires are shorting out? Try the wiggle test next time no start. wiggle the wires and see if it starts. This is a factory mechanic approved test procedure.
I suggest that you take it to another mechanic, preferably one that specializes in electrical problems. It sounds like you have some type of electrical short somewhere and it will take some time to properly diagnose it. When the car is running, does the Check Engine Light stay on?
try giving a little gas when starting. If you get it to rev up and the only problem it dies with your foot off the gas then clean the throttle body. It may or may not help. Then replace the idle air control valve.
I would suggest looking at the little things. Check your fuel filter, and clean your spark plugs. No Guarantee that this will work, but this is much cheaper than replacing something expensive that you don't need.
It could be your ignition switch. when you start (turn) your car as soon as it starts you take your hand off the key the engine dies? If this is the case then it is your ignition switch. To replace it is a simple procedure and should take a maximum 5 minutes. strip off the steering surround(around your indicator stalks) on the back of the ignition barel is a black plastic circle with two wires and two screws. unscrew those follow the wires down under the dash and unplug them. That is all you need to do the to replace is just the reverse of this.
dear friend-the fact that the vehicle could be a sensor or idling control valve, not starting up right away could be that feul was injected with no ignition, bare in mind that when you crank the engine feul gets injected immediatly, should there be no spark present you got accesive feul that needs to evaporate before starting, thats why black smoke at startup
If you have a GTP these engines use a hi output fuel pump. they use a fuel pump resistor located under the battery tray (look up from under the car) This resistor lowers the voltage to the fuel fump when not in boost mode. because of its locatoin it is prone to corrosion. if you bypass the wires and the engine starts and stays running replace the resistor
Check under your steering.there is a black churlock box.open it .make shure that there is no burned tracks on the board if yes.take it to a electronic specialist to join the burned stripes .test all diodes and replace if necessary
