Broken sun roof window shade

The roller of the horizontal window shade apparently skipped the ratchet and won't retract.

  1. Is it possible to reset/rewind the shade like an old-fashioned window shade?
  2. If so, how do we remove the bezel around the sun roof?
Thanks.

Can i sealing up my sun roof completely so it won't leak can i do that?

The sun roof will leak no matter what, that is why it has two drains, they are likely plugged up.

2002 Bonneville Sunroof. Fabric on sunshade was loose, was able to pull shade forward, glued fabric but the shade will not go back. Seems to be hitting something in the back. Can you help?

Hi

Inspect the sun roof of your Pontiac Bonneville to make sure it's seated evenly on your vehicle, not raising or lifting at one corner. Lifting indicates the presence of debris on the tracks, or a damaged seal around the sun roof.

Remove the trim on the interior of your Pontiac Bonneville and allow the interior material to drop. Use compressed air to blow dust and debris from the tracks that move your sun roof. Treat the tracks using 3-In-One Lubricant.

Check the Pontiac Bonneville's drain tubes for clogging. Two of these run down the front of your vehicle to the bumpers. Two run to the back, most often by your tail lights. Clear the tubes using compressed air and replace them.

Clean the sun roof's rubber seal with a damp, lint-free cloth. Inspect the seal as you clean

Sliding shade is stuck and won't slide. Glass is down in 1 corner, not flush with roof

the shade may be related to sunroof not closeing completely, the most common reason is the track is broken , this is the most common reason for when the sun roof doesnt close or jams when opening or closing its always the track breaks, the way to check this is to easy the headliner needs to be dropped and removed and then the glass from sunroof removed then unbolt track and drop down into car and check the track linkage and arms and track and see whats broken, note there are no replacement parts only motor or cable, as far as the parts that always break like an arm on the track this is not replaceable the track needs to be replaced, hope this helps , good luck.

Could you tell me if my mini one convertible has a fuse box that can stop my roof retracting fully it will retract as far back as a sun roof and the other buttons lower the back windows but it will not...

If it open's. but not all the way, then the fuse is good, no other fuse to open all the way, same fuse, the problem is with the retracting assembly, will have to take it in for service.

My sun roof/moon roof won't open, i can hear the motor working but it's not catching anything

The cables have become disconnected inside the roof, either broken or just unclipped, if you never worked on a sunroof it may benefit you to find a sun roof professional as to avoid any possible further problems.

Chrysler concorde sun roof stuck open!!

Check the fuses to start with. If they are fine it could be a broken switch or a burnt electrical motor. If the closing mechanism has broken and bound up it could keep the window from closing. With the car in accessory mode or ON -whichever allows the windows to open - hit the close switch and listen closely. if a click of the motor can be heard it is a mechanical issue - if not it is electrical.
