Blower motor on my '94 Suburban makes noise, only when I start the engine or shut it off. Kind of sounds the same as a flat spot on the tire. BOP-BOP-BOP-BOP-BOP for about 30 seconds. Any ideas? I bought the truck from a farmer so could it be hay, a mouse, feathers, or just needs replaced?

The only way to know for sure is to pull the blower motor and check the fan alignment and bearing - the fan may be hitting the case on each revolution at low speed. When you do, you will probably find a lot of debris in the cavity, especially up against the heater core (be VERY careful if there is some and you try to remove it).

SOURCE: When engine is started, heater door makes clicking

Your air temp control blend door actuator is failing, that is the part u call a heater door, it is a gear driven miniature drive, the gears are jumping teeth making the noise, it will stop working very soon.

SOURCE: Flat spots on tire

This could be one of three things , either you have an alignment issue , bad suspension parts or just the lack of tire rotation. If the flat spots are at an angle from outside edge to inside edge then the problem is with your rear struts. If the flat spots are either on the out side edge or inside edge then the you have an alignment issue. If the flat spot are consistent all around the tire then you have a tire balance issue or bad rear struts.

Ticking sounds like a dry lifter, when was the last time you changed the oil and filter? Humming sounds like you need a tire rotation because of uneven tire wear.

The motor has sealed bearings. You need a motor but probably not the squirrel cage. The switch repair was to get the fan working and warranty wouldn't cover the fan.

Try rotating your tires from front to back. It may help with the noise. Get a front-end alignment which can also help with the noise by correcting a "rub" sound that originates from the 2 front tires fighting each other for control.

The place which replaced your bearings is probably correct. When you get bad bearings they do not always fail evenly across the 360 degree turning of the bearing race. If you imagine a donut with a flat spot representing your bearing- as the donut spins with the flat spot cause by a disintegrating roller, the tire is bolted to the donut. The tire is going to hit the pavement differently every rotation because of the play in the bearing is at that same spot.

This play will create small cups in the tire shape at the low spot transmitted by the bearing. When you replaced the bearing , the marks in your tire tread remained. These edges need to be worn off. Or some tire stores can Shave a tire, in an attempt to make it round again.

If you have a normal size spare, you can put the spare on the left front side of your vehicle and see if the noise goes away. If the rims are different on the spare, you can have everything remounted and pay for rebalancing and put the unused spare as a front tire. Then you know the spare is at least good as a spare, but noisy.

Sounds like the blower motor resistor. It should be mounted close to the blower motor. The blower motor resistor may run around $50.00, you may need to replace the plug, dealer item, around $60-70. Shouldn't be $1000.

I have noise at the front end i had it check and they did not find nothing they said i was wear of the truck does that sound right one more thing when i turn my ac on it makes a roaring sound when i mash...

for your first question, there are so many noises that can be found in the front end of a truck. You will need to be ALOT more detailed in your discription.
For the second one; when I first read you question I think fan clutch. Which would be normal for the truck. When fan clutches lock the truck can sound like a B52 airplane taking off.
BUT you say something about the blower motor, so I don't really know how to answer the question. You mean it's a noise inside of the car or a noise in the engine, or a noise only when the ac compressor is cycling in the on position?

i want you to feel all 4 tires, feel for lots of flat spots. feel all the way around them. they might have flat spots on them. this will cause this noise. you neer to rotate your tires at 3,000 miles front to back. this will stop them from cupping out. thats what the tire store calls it. have your tires checked for balance when you rotate them. your tire with flat spots will make a good spare tire. switch the bad one to your spare to see if the noise gets changes
