If the glass fell down you need a new window regulator....take a chair with you to the VW parts counter so you can sit down when they tell you how much they cost !!

Last one I did was in a 2004 VW NB convertible..... $800.00 installed

I have a 2004 vw bug and the rear window came off track. And now i need to find how to take rear panel off so i can get to the window and put it back on track.

I take it must be a convertible? Open the roof and remove the rear seat pad and back rest. You'll see the rear quarter panel trim is one piece plastic! Remove the screws holding it in place and lift it up and lay it aside with the seatbelt extended. Unbolt, unplug and remove the speaker. There are 4 bolts that hold in the rear window lifter assembly, loosen the bolts and lift out the entire assembly and then correct the window problem! I advise you though to take it to a dealer as it is a very complicated operation that requires correct adjustments of the lifter assembly because the adjustments will definitely be out for the window to come off its position!!

Right rear window will not go up 2005 VW bug convertible what is wrong?

Can you hear the motor whirring when the switch is activated? VW makes the bracket that holds the window out of plastic. You cannot buy a replacement bracket, so most likely the window regulator is broken and it needs to be replaced.

If you do not hear the motor, then the switch could be bad, or agin the regulator may need to be replaced. It's expensive to fix VW windows.

Sounds like a window regulator clip problem. VW extended the warranty on these years ago, but only on front windows.

That happened to me. I tried to re-insert the window into the track but it was impossible. The dealer ordered some clips and I think I paid about $50 to have it fixed.
