I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette and have recently discovered
that the rear HVAC blows hot air when the AC is activated. The front has
cold air coming from the vents, but the back has hot air blowing. The
temperature of the air is always hot, even though I have tried adjusting the
temperature setting using both the front and rear controls. I pulled down the overhead control and there is no valve or anything that is stuck...basically just a plug and play harness. Did a search but seems this is something more in line with a Dealer repair vs a regular novice mechanic such as myself. Would you agree? Or is there some other place I can look that possibly has a sticking actuator or valve?
I WISH I WAS THERE TO HELP.I DONT RECALL WHERE ANY OF THE VENT VALVES WERE LOCATED BUT IF YOU CANT SEE ANY OR THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS LOOK IN TACT DONT TURN IT INTO A WORSE PROBLEM.BRING IT IN IT DOESNT NECCISSARLY HAVE TO BE THE DEALER IF YOU HAVE A RELIABLE MECHANIC OF YOUR OWN.IVE REPAIRED MANY CARS THAT WERE ATTEMPTED TO BE REPAIRED BEFORE BEING BROUGHT IN AND THE BILL WAS A LOT HIGHER.GOOD LUCK
