Is there a fuse for the radio in a 96 silverado?

the fuse has only so many loads no actual fuse stated.by you.
there are more than one fuse related to a radio, besides the one marked RAD. so... why not tell the exact fuse.......????

we disconnect each to find the one that is shorted.
the fuse prevents the wire fire, so... do not up the amps.

FB 12 (fused dimmer to radio and other places
FB 15 main radio power,(run -acc)
PDC 17 dome lights and radio memory wire....

you need to know what fuse, then look in the FSM
and see all things wired to that fuse.

you need to look at all feed wires to the fuse that blows
that includes options, and aftermarket hacks to car.

factory or aftermarket radio? I really cant help much on factory, if its aftermarket check your power and ground wires have good connection and in proper places, also check fuse on the back of your stereo

It sounds like a bad connection some were the relays are behind the glovebox

look under the hood passenger's side and look at the exhaust manifold.. the crank position wire may be shorting out and causing the ecm1 fuse to blow?

its probly been put in by a dealer at one point to make the trans shift on alot of cheavy vans they did this because the wire breaks in the loom and its an easy way to fix it

The stepping motors in the gauges go bad. Do a search on ebay for CHEVY SILVERADO INSTRUMENT CLUSTER for cheaper repair options, dealer costs $300.00

I have a 96 s-10 blazer and know of the electrical problems ware one thing is related to another thing that no one would thing had any kind of relationship with the other but they do.
You have a vehicle in the years that they build junk no telling Chevy did

My nephew has a 96 taurus also when his radio went out he noticed that his speedometer was not working as well so we check the fuses under the dashboard and found that a fuse from the radio memory was blown . We replaced it and the radio and speedometer and the odometer worked fine

Hey, Buddy.. I just had the same thing happen to me. If you look under the hood over the left front tire you will have a black box with Electrical Center written on the top of it. Just look in there you will have a fuse marked Radio that will be blown. It should be a 15 amp fuse.

I am surprised that GM has all that stuff on one fuse and of all things on the Radio fuse...
