I have a 2000 GMC Sierra 4.3 liter V6 Vortec and im having troubles. here is the problem the truck will start but you can shut it off and it wont come back on it turns over and sputters and will not start. what i have been doing is the battery will end up dying and we hook a battery charger to it and get power back to it and after a few cranks it will start back up. if you have any suggestions please let me know. the truck also has 320,000 miles on it but when it runs it runs with a slight hesitation

What with that many miles on it I would check the catalytic converter and muffler to be sure they are not plugged. If one of them get plugged it puts back pressure on the engine and won't allow the fuel to enter the cyl. to start the truck. Have you check the fuel pump pressure and the fuel filter.

SOURCE: 1997 gmc k1500 runs really rich

Hi there, first of all you must synch the cam/crank sensors. To do this put the engine on top dead center remove the distributor cap and look very closely at the dist housing there will be a 6 mark and an 8 mark loosen distributor and rotate untill the rotor points directly at the 8. The marks are small so get a light and look closely.Clear codes and restart. Is vehicle still running rich?

What engines will fit in my 2000 gmc jimmy

the only engine that your truck has available is the 4.3 Liter V6, u can install a 4.8 liter V8 or a 5.3 liter V8, but that would be very complicated and costly and u would have trouble getting it certified to pass smog inspections
