2001 chevrolet silverado z71

Recently my 2001 chevy silverado z71 has been making a loud ticking noise only when i am on the gas just starting off. it sounds like it's coming from under the truck around the transfer case. i have asked many people what they think it is and nobody really knows for sure. i've already replaced the rear u-joint and thuroughly checked the rear end. it doesnt make the noise when going in reverse or when i am in 4wd. it started to make noise only when i was going between 45 and 55 mph and at only about 1/4 throttle. and it doesnt make the noise when i get on it. does anyone know what it is?

definitely U-joint. To u-joints. The u-make sure jack up the differential, (both wheels off the ground. turn the rear tires and listen at the front and rear. You will hear the click.

Replace the front u joint. I had the same issue with my truck, and I noticed that the front u joint didn't come stock with a greese zerk, the oem replacement does so they wear out fast. by the time I found it, it still looked ok till I removed the drive shaft....It was very close to wearing through.

I own a 2001 chevy siverado z71 4x4 v8 4.8 vortec engine, Is not starting changed battery, alternator, spark plugs, and the starter is spinning the serpintine belt and its still not starting What else could...

If the engine is turning over than none of the things you replaced will make the engine"start". You will need to check for fuel pressure and spark first.

I have a 1999 chevy silverado Z71 1500 5.3. It makes loud grinding and poping noises when I put it in gear how do I know if its the transmission or the transfer case?

the transfer case only engages when in 4wd. check the universal joint, it connects from the drive shaft to the rear differential. it may need grease or to be replaced.

Engine Knocking/Ticking

This may not be your problem, but recently we had chevy in with a ticking on acceleration that turned out to be a leak on the right hand exhaust manifold only slight but enough to make a noise when driven hard. we noticed a carbon mark around the second cylinder in. If it is a petrol engine have you checked the spark plugs are correctly torqued?
