Mine did the same thing. I had the battery replaced on the controller.and it still beeped. Then I took my key and put it in the ignition, without turning the key and took it out. Did this like 6 times and the long beep finally stopped.

Is it a aftermarket unit , if so you might have to join the yellow wire from back of the unit to the red live wire , the yellow wire is continuity from your ignition and some time needs powering off the live to your unit to work
