I have the same light and the dealer told me I'm up for a new gearbox as they are 'sealed, non-serviceable'. The light doesnt come on just for oil changes, or minor issues. The car had started to slip in 5th & 6th gear only in manual mode. I only owned the 2012 model car for 1 day.

Sorry for being childish at 50, I have obviously missed the information where it says "no posts to help others in the future who are having the same trouble and may find this question in a search". Can you point me to it, in words a child will understand? And I'll let my dealer with the Suzuki factory diagnostic computer and trained techs know that you told them to "stop guessing" too.

i have the same error and it's just one loose wire,.
    omg, saved $4000 in repairs.
and 100's more. wan them , we keep a journal.
the op has a car not sold here,(usa)
the OP lost their owners manual
it tells him to get the car serviced in every book in print. clear as day.
what is actually wrong can be a 1cent fix.
a new sensor, gee its TCM shifted, and all inputs to all TCM must be correct.
or it will not shift rigth.
many AT, will not shift right in tranny or engine limphome mode,
that is correct. the engine gets too hot
and the trans mission goes to a special mode
    that prevents MORE HEAT.
    welcome to the 21s century
and guessing is childish, 10x the CEL glowing
    or trans mission acting od.

if you know just how complex it really is
    you'd not advocating any guessing
not only that the car may be unsafe on the road. grow up and learn its not your fathers Oldsmobile. not now, and not ever again.

    hint:
before buying a use car , drive it cold
if the owner insist driving it hot,
(he did that just before you arrived)
    walk.

many A/t can not operate when cold
    some hot.
but the cold ones, can be hidden by evil sellers.
that be some ropes to learn.
the road test it , up hills. win

    the light tells you ZERO.
nothing but , there is a problem.
    And fact 2, hint 2:
the lamp can be out ,hiding many PCM errors stored.
    a fact.
the lamp is mostly for 2 things. USA rules.
    hes not in USA> so......???????
    1:smog fails.
    2: catastrophic failures.
all else is hidden. (no tools no see)

  • Anonymous Dec 29, 2016

you do not have the same problem
    1 in 500 chances.
    be a fact.

Thought I should answer as it has been a very long time but I finally have a resolution to my faulty transmission. The TCU code that illuminated the light was to advise the transmission had recorded multiple events of "Fluid pressure out of range". The fluid was very old and the transmission had been damaged by never changing the fluid. It wasn't low fluid level, just very old (5 years) and 'worn out'. This transmission is NOT a "sealed unserviceable unit" and required 30,000km fluid changes with very specific CVT transmission fluid. As the dealer never changed the fluid in over 120,000kms, even though it was a service requirement, I eventually got a full refund for the vehicle, and court costs, but it took 6 months in court.

My Suzuki swift automatic, two consequent times while driving on Auto D in low speed, went on N, while lever still on on D and was staying on neutral, no matter where the lever would be, and with car...

2010 swift, sold outside USA< and this is a USA forum.
where is car? what country?
the A/T is slipping, (you see rpm of engine rise high at the demand of right foot that is SLIP,(or we call it flare)
no matter the name it's slipping.
in our country, USA>
we do this>:
  1. check all fuses first.
  2. check a/t fluid levels. per oper, guide, do not guess how.
  3. check that the trans linkage is working correct end to end.
  4. Scan it (that is what the light means) scan me please or all this is just a big guessing game. (Hopeless)
  5. The scan tool shows DTCs, what are they.? does it show that the transmission is in limphome mode? or solenoid fails.?
  6. what? if all this is confusing , get it serviced?

I have a suzuki swift (Japanese), 2009 Model, auto gear car. A warning lamp (yellow/Orange colour) always indicates a warning. It never go off when I am driving the Car. This lamp is in the gear...

Sounds like the engine management light, it can be a lot of things why it's come on but don't panic, you need a car code reader to plug into the car to tell you the code of what the problem is , sometimes the fuel cap not being closed properly is very common but you need a car code reader .

M i have a 95 suzuki swift the headlights went dim on driverside, now only high beams work and is dimm on driverside, low beams wont come on any ideas

I believe that the make and model of car you have uses a two in one head lamp bulb. I also believe that you are most likely looking at a bad light bulb. Simply go to your local auto part store, give them the year, make, and model of your car and they will give you a new bulb. Some auto part stores will even install the bulb for you free of charge. I hope this helps you. If you have any more problems please feel free to ask.
