2006 Grand Caravan 3.8L 6cyl. was sputtering when the gas was pressed, start vibrating. Turned out to be a p404 egr valve. Replaced it. But the car is still not 100%. idles fine but when the gas is pressed in gear it stalls a bit then goes. Doesn't have the power it used to and accelartion is very poor.

SOURCE: how to install egr valve on 2006 dodge grand

You cannot clean them purchase a new one and pull the old one out of the valve cover, and disconnect the hose that runs to it. install the hose on to the new egr with a new worm clamp and push the other end into the valve cover. should take about 10 minutes.

SOURCE: My 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan check engine light has

Yes clean it. Clean the holes in the intake also. A stiff wire in the intake will break anything loose. what you break loose will not hurt your engine. First just unplug the wire connector and plug it in. clear the codes. Some times it's just a bad connection.

Egr code what does it mean

if its the 3.3 then the code would be--0406 egr sensor A curcuit high--- the common fix is to change the egr valve assembly which includes the egr transducer. This egr valve has also a high failure rate and you can check this out by calling the Dodge parts dealer. good-luck !! once egr valve is replaced. have light turned off with scanner. because if it stays on, pcm thinks it still has the problem. it will not send right info to pcm.

2006 Dodge Caravan Sputtering. Code says EGR Valve. Would an EGR valve cause the van to sputter and run rough?

Absolutely. You'll know if your EGR valve is stuck or malfunctioning because your car will experience symptoms like rough idle and bucking on acceleration.

Where is the egr valve on a 2001 dodge grand caravan

It may not have one depending on the engine size. Chrysler tried a few stupid things around then and one was not putting an EGR valve on. If it is a 6cyl then it should be on the back side of the engine more on passenger side. It is a combo valve with pressure sensor which is a round plastic part attached with hoses to the egr valve. It was common for those to melt and cause egr failures.

2006 3.8 dodge grand caravan is not getting gas. fuel pump and egr valve have been replaced. after the fuel pump was replaced it worked for 4 days until i was sitting on an upgrade (hill) at a stop light...

You have a fuel pump relay that sends power to the fuel pump. Do you hear the fuel pump turn on when you start the van? If not then check the relay. sometimes you can have someone tap the top of the relay while the key is being turned. If it starts then change the relay. about 10$ from rockauto.com.
