All codes between p0300 and p0399 are ignition system or misfire codes. To be specific a p0300 code is a random/multiple misfire detected code, and a p0316 is a misfire detected on start up within 1000 RPM. Some of the possible causes for these codes are as follows. You could have a faulty spark plugs or wires. It is also possible that you have a bad oxygen sensor, a bad coil pack, a bad fuel injector, a faulty cam shaft sensor, or even a clogged catalytic converter. If I had to start looking at things to check first I would check all of the spark plug wires and maybe even replace the plugs and wires since that is the cheapest way to start. I am sorry I can not provide more information but these kind of codes are very hard to narrow down without actually having the vehicle here. I hope the information I was able to provide you is helpful.

Have a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.5L v6. Added a fuel injector cleaner with a new tank of gas and now experiencing rough idling and getting error codes P0300, P0301, P0303, & P0305. What's going on?

P0300 is Random Misfire. 01, 03 and 05 narrows it down to those cylinders.

Clean throttle body and MAF, you may have carbon flaking off and fouling plugs. You could try taking it for a good thrash down the highway for an hour.

What would cause a 2004 Ford Taurus to have codes p0300 and p0316?

The P0300 is a general misfire code, and can be a result of numerous things. Coils, wires, plugs, injectors, sensors, mechanical issues etc. Being that you are throwing a P0316 in conjunction with the P0300, I would think that they are related, but rather than throw money at the vehicle>, do a few things first.
Replace your plug wires, chances are they are at, or close to the end of their life,Check the connector going to the CPS for corrosion or a poor connection. Clear the codes and see if the P0300 and P0316 codes come back.In the event that the codes do come back, or just one of them, you can rule out the possibility of the plugs and wires and move on to more possibilities. If the scanner you are using has the ability to monitor misfires, this could be a helpful tool to identify which cylinder(s) the misfire(s) is/are isolated to.In the event the spark plug wires don't fix your issue, and it is isolated to a specific cylinder, or group of cylinders it could tell you where to look next.

Code p0316 also p0300 truck has no power

P0300 is a random misfire and P0316 is misfire at start-up.
If you have the V6, I would start by replacing the plugs and all the coils.
This is a little ******* the V6, since you have to remove the intake manifold, and the coils can be expensive. Coils are available on Ebay.
I've replaced all the coils on my 2002 Escape V6 after 100,000 miles. Typical V6 problem.

Generally, the issue could be the following from: http://www.obd-codes.com/p0300

A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector(s)
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor
  • Defective computer

2003 lincoln navigator idles rough. had cylinder 6 replaced (was bent) had both heads redone, replaced fuel pump. Still idled rough and would stall when stopping or turning. took to other mechanic. They...

I once owned a trans repair shop-
if your trans fluid was in any way other than
pink, your trans may as well come out
and be rebuilt

You have coil misfires as you know, several shown,
most likely only 1 real bad one.

You have O2 sensor codes as well as MAF

The only issue you have is to find the bad
coil
You can't do that buy the codes you have
You have to walk a new coil till you find the
really bad one or get professional help
Don't count on them getting it right

After the misfire and coil issues are solved
there are other thing that can be looked into

I could fix this for you but that's not an internet
option

I definitely would stay away from a dealer.

Why was the trans let go until the fluid was
black?
Not to be hurtful -but it is a well known fact
for decades, that trans fluid and power steering
fluids get changed every 30,000 miles on ALL
vehicles and never past 3 years.

Wish I could have been there sooner, before you
got it or since.

Missing, running very rough at idle-very low idle. Engine codes P0011, P0022, P0171, P0300, P0305, P0307, P0316, P2198.

the P0011 and P0022 are the camshaft sensors (both sides) are over advanced--common problem on Fords, and is usually a defective VCT solenoid (variable cam timing solenoid)-it will cause your other codes (P0300 random misfire), P0305 (#5 cylinder), P0307 (#7), P0316 (misfire at startup)-P0171 is a lean condition on side 1, where #1 plug is located (look for a vacuum leak, but a faulty VCT could also cause this)-is there any chance the last oil change set this off? The proper viscosity is very important and may have caused these codes.

The P2198 is O2 sensor signal stuck rich bank 2 sensor 1. Has the engine or sensors recently gotten a bath in oil (seafoam?)-this code indicates something of possibly an over zealous maintenance procedure could have damaged maybe the MAP sensor, or more.... Unfortunately, you have a lot of company. At least you didn't crack a piston or hydrolock the engine. Seafoam is pale oil, naptha, and alcohol. With more detail there should be a reason for all those somewhat related codes-post more information.
