2000 infiniti QX4 3.3L (engine has a distributer) stalls out especially when revved from idle. Also won't start or very difficult to start, haven't been able to get it to start for a couple days even with spraying ether into air intake, starter seems very strong, it just won't fire. NO CODES!! Changed fuel filter, changed distributer rotor, cleaned MAF and it appears to be functioning correctly on my OBDII computer. Checked fuel pump pressure and get 50psi when cranking and holds at 37psi the rest of the time. Have read horror stories about this problem ranging from a dirty throttle body to bad cam positioning sensor. Any ideas?

Pull one ignition cable out of cap just enough to see the tip of connector and crank it, a spark should jump from cap to tip of wire. no spark means you need the whole distributor replaced. buy it from nissan or infiniti dealer, it comes with cap rotor installed and 12 mo 12k mile warranty, no matter who installs it. dont waste time with aftermarket rebuilt distributor, those are not reliable. https://parts.infinitiusa.com/

Usually your pcm, (onboard computer) will pick up anything out of the ordinary and set a check engine light. this will point you in a direction if the code pertains to the idle issue. If no check engine light, then being a ford you may have carbon build up behind your throttlr body butterfly valve/flap. this will cause a rough idle, as well as issues with your egr valve and your idle air control valve. Its really kinda difficult to diagnose over the phone so to speak, especially if you are dealing with a problem that your pcm will not pick up.

Cars starts easily but won't idle if you floor it, it rev and then stalls. Sometime it backfires as well. Any ideas?

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
My car will not idle properly until after it is warmed up.(1995 Olds. Cutlass Supreme 3.4)
It wants to idle up and down between 1000 and and 2000 and will stall out if I don't keep it revved up at 2000 until it warms up.
