Hey Norman the wheel barrings are fairly easy to replace

1 remove the tire
2 remove the brake assembly ( remembering how it goes back together )
3 remove the rotor ( the big disk thing ) for people that dont know
you will see the wheel pins that hold the tire on give that a turn if you hear

grinding, clicking, squeaking those are clear indications the you have a bad wheel barring

good luck!

When to replace rear wheel bearings

Depending on make and model. Most newer models have a sealed hub/bearing assembly and are not servicable. If this is the case, they do not need replacement unless they become noisey or loose.

Our 1999 ford taurus started making a load roaring or howling noise. We told that it was the power steering pump. We changed that ,but the roar is still there. It makes the noise at about 45mph. When...

Hi,It sounds like a noisey wheel bearing.you can check this by driving the car at 45 turn your steering wheel slighty to the left and back to the right.Listen for the howling noise to change,if it does you have one or both bad front wheel bearings.chances are thay both are bad. One's just louder than the other.if you are on a tight budget you can check them out by jacking your car up and put it on jack stands(safty first).Remove your wheels, brake pads and calipers,be sure to secure the calipers up out of the way.Remove the rotors. With everything out of the way now you can check the wheel bearings. You spin the wheel bearing slowly with the wheel stud this shuld turn smoothly,if you feel anything when turning it,then it is bad and it will need to be replaced. If you have any more questions just comment back and i'll answer. I hope this helps,if it does please rate my answer.Thank You for using fixya.....iluv2fish.........Ray.......

My car makes a humming noise when excellerating and is especcially noisey when turning steering wheel to the left. there is also a continous squeak. my husband put WD40 on the bolt on power steering box...

If WD-40 got on belt, and squeak went away for a while, it may just need a new belt. The humming noise sounds like a worn wheel bearing that should be checked and replaced if needed. If squeak goes away when you push slightly on brake pedal, it may be rotor on same side as wheel bearing making the noise due to slight shifting of rotor because of worn bearing. You can try swapping tires on front from one side to other to confirm it isn't tire problem as well. If noise shifts to other side, then it's a tire.

Yes it is the rear bearing. It can be a home fix but you will need good tools and some spare time. Log on to the Hyundai Coupe Owners Club in the UK for guidance.

Noise in front end, when u make a turn it stop and starts again

a wheel bearing will make noise when there is weight on it. if you turn the wheel from side to side while driving and shift the weight it will tell you what side is the noisey bearing. the bearing is pressed in. you must use a press to replace.

Squeaking noise front drivers side of engine

Loosen the belts [ you do not need to remove] so they are free of tension to all pulleys.Start engine , if noise goes away either belts were too loose [ common on lx 450] or you have a worn & noisey pulley /bearing.have seen idler pulley below alternator have dry / noisey bearing.Otherwise if idler is ok it has to be another belt driven assessory , ac clutch, water pump & or fan clutch.Good Luck.

I need a free diagram of rear wheel bearing replacement

The question you asked me to clarify was really quite simple..... I needed a diagram of rear wheel bearing assembly for a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.38 litre, 6 cylinder, 2 wheel drive vehicle. You couldn't provide me with a diagram so I took the wheel off looked at the old one then the new one and just did it myself. Thanks for not helping.
