Break light is on as well as abs. Repair shop says they do not have access to the code to repair. Breaks work fine per two different shops. Is it just a switch that needs repair.

One of the sensors on the ABS system could be shorted, have the OBD codes read,, then cleared, that will help you see or limit what to check, once the codes have been cleared,, the lights should go off, if they come back on, then you need to locate the problem with the abs

ABS an break light stays on I have put on new breaks still on

There is a problem with the ABS system. It will turn on both lights. You need the ABS codes retreived in order to isolate the problem and repair the malfunction. Your normal brakes will work just fine.

ABS

Hello, there could be a lot of different malfunctions that turns this light on, no quick fix or answer, you'll need to get it to a repair shop that can access the abs system to get the diagnostic trouble codes from the computer, then go from there.

My ABS light came on, how long can I safely drive it before taking it in?

the ABS just prevents you from skidding, it does not affect the opperation of the brakes. So long as you dont slam on the breaks you will be fine, however it is always best to have all systems functioning properly.

the ABS light on my 2000 S-10 has been on for the last 15 months and I have never failed to stop.

My abs light keeps going on and off and have no break lights ??

I will assume your familiar with most lights
you get on your dash. They have been there for 30 years

The ABS is your braking systems electrical part,
that has issues or problems. I will assume you know that
as well

Also the brake lights while electrical is not ABS
related, different problem to work on.

Both these issues need to be diagnosed & repaired

You can not use the vehicle with no brake lights &
the abs will need professional help to resolve,
such as a repair shop with test equipment

Brakes start working very low in the pedal. abs light comes on from time to time.

The low pedal is for the most part, worn front pads

The check light and ABS is a System malfunction,
common is a Wheel Speed Sensor

Need codes, then diagnose.

Best bet is a repair shop

Hi
It means that there is a malfunction in your anti-lock brake system(ABS). Your abs is shutoff by your computer until the repair is made. you have regular brakes until the repair is made. Usually it is metal shavings from your brakes that covers the sensors which in a lot of cases are magnetic and attract the metal shavings. go to a shop have the code pulled and an estimate given to you for repair. Many newer cars are equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) that prevents the brakes from locking up during sudden, hard stops. When the ABS indicator light on your dashboard comes on, it usually means that your ABS system isn't working properly and needs to be checked. However, your normal, non-ABS braking system should still are functioning.
When the ABS light comes on then most probably the computer has detected a problem and set a code. The code will stay in the computer even if the light goes out. You need to have the system Scanned for codes. Once the cause of the code has been repaired the light can be shut off by clearing the code.
Most auto repair shops will have Scanners and all the equipment to Diagnose and repair the problem. And, Most auto parts stores can plug in a diagnostic scanning device into your vehicle to read the trouble codes at no cost if you purchase the parts necessary to repair the vehicle from them. The trouble codes can tell you THE AREA where the problem is with your ABS system. So it's wise to have a Tech check that circuit to isolate what the problem actually is.
In order to reset this light you need to have access to a Scan tool that does more than just read the codes. Other diagnostic equipment may be needed as well.
You have a problem with the ABS. As long as the light is on the ABS is not working. The light will remain on until the problem is fixed.

2001 Sienna ABS seems to engage even in bone dry weather. I can hear it activiate. The the ABS light comes on. Then it goes away. Breaks work fine. What is the problem and how much to repair it?

you may have a bad wheel speed sensor or a bad tone ring, you will need a scan tool or a repair shop to pinpoint which wheel is acting up, then from there test the sensor and look at tone ring.

2006 chevy aveo abs break light comes on. breaks shutter when pressed while light is not on. when light is on I have no problems breaking

Put a scanner on the vehicle and get the code .
Obviously its an ABS PROBLEM and not the hydralic portion of the system.
Either a wheel sensor or the module were my experiences with your problem.
Once you get the code do the repair necessary ( use a shop manual this is not a difficult procedure to do)
Good luck
