There is a fuse box in the engine compartment usually on the driver side on top of the inner fender well. It's a black square box or sort of rectangular sometimes marked fuses or electronic. On the inside of the cover it should show what and where each fuse goes to.

SOURCE: When I plugged my trailer

You have a short in the trailer. Unfortunately that short can be everywhere in the trailer's harness so you must check every single wire and bulb socket: take out all the bulbs and, using an ohmmeter, start testing at the trailer plug- the wire that shows 0 resistance is the shorted one. Go from wire junction to wire junction until you find the short and insulate the bare metal that's shorting.

Where is fuse for trailer running lights on 03 F150?

The location of the fuse for the running lights on a trailer may vary depending on the make and model of your vehicle. However, here are some general steps to help you locate the fuse:
  1. Check your vehicle's owner's manual to determine the location of the fuse box. The manual should also provide a diagram of the fuse box and a list of fuses and their functions.
  2. Once you have located the fuse box, open it and look for the fuse labeled "Trailer" or "Trailer Lights." Some vehicles may have a separate fuse box specifically for trailer wiring.
  3. If you cannot find a fuse labeled for the trailer lights, check the fuses labeled "Parking Lights" or "Tail Lights." These fuses may also control the trailer's running lights.
  4. If you are unable to find the correct fuse, you may need to consult a mechanic or the dealership for assistance.
Remember to always replace a blown fuse with one of the same amperage rating. If the new fuse blows immediately after installation, there may be a wiring issue with the trailer or vehicle that needs to be addressed.

1998 Chevy Silverado 1500 Brake light fuse blew, replaced, fuse blew again, replaced relay and fuses. both under hood and in side fuse panel. Fuses keep blowing on turn signal and brake lights. Checked...

you obviously have a short to ground on one of the wires to the back (if it was the front the brake shouldn't blow the fuse). the most common problem is usually in a trailer light harness. if you look under the drivers side rear of the truck, down under the tail light there will be a plugin junction. pull this plug-in apart and see if the fuse still blows. if it does then the problem is forward of that connector, if it doesn't then the problem is behind that plugin. be sure to check for "green death" (electrical corrosion) at all joints especially any trailer hook ups.

Suburban towing package fuse box location

2005 Suburban Z71 4WD I had similar situation. No 12 volt positive to 7 trailer. Under my hood at the fuse panel, the red 12v + wire was connected to Stud # 1 which is on the left side of fuse box. There is a square fuse right next to this stud. I put a 40 amp fuse in it. I use this power to charge a battery in a trailer as I am hauling.

Hi. The trailer has a shot in the wiring and blew your Jeep lights. Check for fuse in fuse box near battery or inside Jeep under dash and replace it.

No power to the trailer and fuses under dash check okay

Had that problem on my Jimmy. Turns out there was a short in the trailer wiring and it blew a small fuse that powers the trailer pigtail and my licence plate lights. It was located in the fuse box / power distribution box under the hood. There are 1 or 2 of them in there, you should be able to locate the box fairly easily, they are almost always plainly marked. Under hood, near firewall, right (passenger) side of the vehicle behind the strut tower is the second fuse box.

If the fuse isn't blown, check the bulbs. There is a chance that they both blew.

F150 Ford 1998 is there a fuse for a trailer and where is it located? Thank you

There are a few fuses for the trailer tow adapter.

1st, is theodd location on the 97-98, engine mini fuse panel has a 20 A fuse forthe stop / turn lamps. Have seen it covered in tape from the factory onsome 97-98 MY trucks.
This is on page 142 in the owners 1997 manual, all the revisions for the 1998 owners manual I have seen do not include this fuse box for some reason.

Download a PDF version from Ford, for the 1997 MY at :

https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals/default.asp

This is a picture of the Power Distribution Box, additional relay box and engine mini fuse panel with the covers off. The 20A in the upper right panel with the red base, is the trailer stop/turn fuse.

The others :
1. Power Distribution Panel / engine compartment fuse panel
Fuse #1 - Trailer tow back-up and tail lamps
Fuse #16 - Trailer tow battery charge and stop/turn lamps
Fuse #28 - Trailer tow electronic brake

2. Instrument Panel Fuses ( cab fuse panel by hood release )
#23 - trailer tow battery charge relay
