I have a 1998 Chevy Silverado 1500. Won't start. I have power. My dome light is on with the door open and it beeps when i put the key in with the door open. But the moment I start to turn the key to the run position, the light starts to dim and the beep starts to get muffled. Once the key is fully in the run position, there isn't power to anything.

Are there any lights on the dash when this happens? "security" for example? If you see a light that says security, that could also be your problem. This link explains.
