Do you have jack stands,at least 2?Are you working on concrete?Do you have any tools including an inch pound tork wrench?First thing I do is buy a Haynes manual or go to the library and read about the steps I need to do the job.If you bend the flange on the pan it will leak.I would check out prices on the tools you need and compare what a shop would charge. If you still want my help give me all the details you can and I will more than happy to give you safe instructions.I just Paid $35.00 to have mine done.Thank You for choosing FixYaDo you have jack stands,at least 2?Are you working on concrete?Do you have any tools including an inch pound tork wrench?First thing I do is buy a Haynes manual or go to the library and read about the steps I need to do the job.If you bend the flange on the pan it will leak.I would check out prices on the tools you need and compare what a shop would charge. If you still want my help give me all the details you can and I will more than happy to give you safe instructions.I just Paid $35.00 to have mine done.Thank You for choosing FixYa

check that the bottom half of the timing chain cover isn't too tight, or the seals and gaskets are good and stuck, make sure you have a couple oilpan bolts threaded loosely enough to allow the oilpan to move but threaded enough to hold the oilpan up, hit the bottom of the oilpan to knock it loose
1 drain oil
2 remove bolts retaining oilpan
3 clean mating surfaces on oilpan and engine block
4 check fit gasket to see if holes line up
5 reattach oilpan to engine block and tighten to specified torque
6 put required lube oil in motor to level and start to check for leaks
You might have tightened the bolts to the oilpan too tight, breaking the gasket by squeezing it apart... the correct way to do this is to tighten the bolts only untill you can see the gasket squish out a little... as soon as it squishes out----stop.. that would be tight enough... anything beyond this would be overtightening... the bolts do not go in so tight that they quit turning...snug is the best way...hope this helps...
you don't have to take the oil pan down its located if looking at the engine top view its to your far left under the alternator and I have a feeling your going to be replacing that a lot there's been problems with that type of oil pump
It's very easy. Just make sure that the surface is extremely clean and dry before applying the gasket material. It's a lot harder to get off than on. Also be sure that pressure is applied and left on until the gasketing material has cured.
What is the make and model and year and why are you doing this?
