I have a problem setting the compass bearing and temperature setting in my 1997 toyota prado. I have managed to change the altimeter correctly but have not managed the rest, any tips? thanks in advance.

I've been resetting pajero's compasses but try to get to an area where you can do 360 degrees turns (empty car parks, ) press the reset button and make 2 complete 360 turns slowly and normally this should set the compass bearing.
Let us know how you get on. Cheers.

Hi
I have a 1967 Toyota Prado (ex Japan) the compass does not move at all, but all the other bits (altimeter etc do). Does anyone know how to reset it or change it to make it register. Cheers Bruce

I have a 1996 Prado deisel & a similar issue except that the guage display consel has become loose & is rattling, I tried to tighten it but to no avail. It appears the tightening mechanism lies behind the dash. How do I sort this out??
To reset compass press the two arrow buttons at the same time until compass dial either flashes or letters are replaced with dashes, drive a full 360 degrees once or twice that should reset it. To tighten the consul you have to gently prise the centre of dash where the radio is located after undoing the ash tray by the two screws underneath, you need to use something to gently prise the centre consul from the rest of the dash wallpaper or freezer scraper as this is quite wide and fits in the small gap hope this helps Pete
