On my replacement fuel filter there was no rubber washer to give a tight seal. I had to take the washer from the old filter and put it on the new one. The filter is black as well as the washer so it is hard to locate, but putting a screw driver up in the slot removed the washer. Everything was good to go after this.
Replacing just the fuel filter should have nothing
to do with not starting
Were there other problems that lead to you wanting
to replace the fuel filter?

i have a similar problem but i have fuel at the rails if you take the cover off and look on the right side of the motor you will see the fuel lines goin in push the line on the pinch the two tabs on either sides and pull but be sure you do this before turning the key on because it wont have any pressure if indeed the pump is working .. after you have line off turn key on and crank the engine and see if fuel comes out if so the fuel is not the problem then you need to check injectors and or if you have spark... at this point in time i have spark and fuel but injectors seem not to firing and trying to get someone to help me is a bit frustrating so if you already gotten your van repaired i would gladly like to know what it is thank you [email protected]
