Hi, I have a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT and the cigarette lighter stopped working. I use it to charge my GPS and phone. I went to check the fuses and changed several and through google I read that it should be fuse #14 and I changed that too, but nothing has been working. I am starting to think I will need to replace the whole cigarette lighter component, but I am not sure where to get one or get it fixed. Any suggestions? Thank you.

You need to check that there is power to the cigarette lighter before you replace it,it still may be a fuse you can usually tell if a fuse is blown by looking at it, if you can't try & get someone to show you how, cigarette lighters can usually be bought from a spare parts shop that will usually fit but you may have to a genuine one from a dodge dealer......hope this helps......cheers

How can I change the cigarette lighter fuse in Toyota Avalon 2005?

Changing the fuse in the fuse box wont solve your problem On the back of the socket that is mounted in the dash that the lighter pushes into has a inline fuse that if over heated will blow. You will have to change the lighter. Toyota wanted close to $70 for a replacement lighter for my Tacoma. I never used the cigarette lighter for cigarett but needed to charge my cell phone so I replaced it with a dash Mount 12 Volt Power Socket for $10. Good luck.

Cigarette lighter socket came out, no charging

You probably pulled the wiring plug off the back of the socket. Or the fuse went when the socket came out.

Cigarette lighter stopped working

Your post is just a tad bit confusing. In most cars these days they have a ciggarette lighter as well as a power port or two.

Is your cigarette light port and your power port, in your eyes, the same thing? If yes, and you've checked the fuse and "it appears to be fine" then I would say that you have a short in your wiring that for some reason isn't tripping the fuse. Unlikely though.

I believe in one car I worked on had two different fuses that went to the ciggarette ligher. Maybe just maybe you have a few different fuses running your ports and you checked some of the fuses but not all of them.

Most cars have fuse boxes in the following locations: Engine Bay, Glove Box, Drivers or passengers side kick panel, trunk.

The most likely spots to check for a fuse box is to the left of your legs while sitting in the drivers seat and underneath the hood.

Hope this helps out,
