Where is the knock sensor located on a 2005 gmc sierra 1500 4x4 5.3 L

Do not replace with Autozone knock sensors unless you feel like doing the job twice as I found out the hard way. I replaced mine and a week later the check engine light came back on. Went to the dealer and was told they have seen this problem many times before and to use oem replacement parts only. The two sensors and harness ran me about $230 from the dealer but no more engine light and no more sputtering. Hopefully I can return them to Autozone as soon as I find the receipts.

2002 gmc ex cab po 332 knock sensor.. what is this?

their are 2 knock sensors located under the intake manifold you can't see them without removing the intake, they go bad quite often and I have replaced lots of them if attempting this repair on your own you should buy a book, one sensor will be bad, usually the rear due to water intrusion but replace both while your in there

Is it new hardware?....older pre used hardware should be replaced....also, check the dust shields behind the rotors....could be rusted loose....happened to mine

When i first start my truck in the morning the tapes knock for about a minute or two and then stops. why?

Hopefully it's your oil wgt is incorrect for the temp. Try changing your oil and using a good SAE 5W-30 high detergent oil and also add a pint or so of Mystery Oil as well. If that does not correct it, you could have a restricted oil passage or stuck lifter.

2001 chey 1500hd truck with 6.0 eng where is the knock sensor located?

knock sensors are underneath intake manifold. replace both if going in and buy the small harness that is attached to them. they are usually quite corroded. good luck

Buy the sensor from the dealer. Aftermarket parts will give you headaches.

Changing knock sensors on 2001 GMC 1500hd
1. Remove the intake manifold.
2. There are 2 sensors located on a plate under the intake manifold. These are the knock sensors.
3. Remove the wiring harness assembly from the knock sensor.
4. Install the new rear bank knock sensor and tighten to 15 lb ft.
