I WOULD REPLACE FUEL FILTER FIRST.THEN CHECK FUEL PRESSURE SHOULD BE 48 PSI.

Wont start it cranks but nothing happens.wont turn over. put a new what you would call distributor. still nothing.

If the Starter isn't turning the engine over, but you hear a clicking sound, you may have a bad Starter.
If the Starter is turning the engine over, but you are getting no Spark, you may have a failed Camshaft or Crankshaft Position Sensor, or your Timing Belt may have jumped or broken(common on the neons).
If the Starter is turning the engine over, but you are getting Spark, you may have a failed fuel pump, fuel pump relay, or fuel pressure regulator.

Before you start replacing sensor, double check the Timing belt to ensure it hasn't broken or jumped, and check to see if you are getting a spark or not.

1996 dodge neon has gas but no spark i change the ignition coil but still wont start what could it be is it the crank sensor or fuse

If there isn’t a spark then check Electrical system, or check the gas system from the injectors up to fuel pump. Do not forget the fuel filter ….

Try looking to see if your injectors are clogged or if fuel is getting to the fuel rail. You can take the hose that is on the fuel rail off then try starting it or just pump the gas pedal and you should see gas coming out. I had a similar problem with my 97 neon and this was my problem just try and see, you never know.
