Driver side power window on a 1999 chevy silverado LS won't go down. passenger side window works. bought new switch, nothing changed. bought new regulator with motor and still, nothing changed. i haven't tried a new fuse (circuit breaker type relay) because i figured if the passenger side window worked, the fuse is not blown. what next? the wiring? how do i check/fix that?

Motor is not turning in second direction to lower window. Either the new motor is defective or the device that reverses the electricity to the motor is defective. Regulator?

Take motor out and feed it juice - will turn. Reverse polarity and it should turn in other direction.

Sounds like your gears are striped out inside the motor. I had the same problem on a car of mine. I just went to a parts store and bought the gear and took the motor apart and fixed it myself. It cost 18 dollars with tax.

Good Luck.

SOURCE: passenger power window does not work 2002 Silverado HD Ext Cab

REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL TO GET TO THE WINDOW MOTOR. REMOVE THE CONNECTOR ON THE MOTOR. LOOP A TEST LIGHT FROM BOTH TERMINALS. WITH THE KEY ON AND BOTH SWITCHES IN PLACE, CHECK TO OPERATION OF THE SWITCHES. IF THE LIGHT COMES ON IN BOTH DIRECTION THE WINDOW MOTOR IS BAD.

THERE IS A CIRCUIT BREAKER BUILT INTO THE WINDOW MOTOR. SOMETIME HITTING THE MOTOR WITH MAKE THE CIRCUIT BREAKER RESET BUT THE MOTOR WONT LAST LONG DOING THAT.

ALSO TRY PULLING DOWN ON THE WINDOW WHILE TRYING THE SWITCHES. THE WINDOW COULD JUST BE STUCK. THIS HAPPENED TO ME.

Testimonial: "Thanks, BB1BUD. I ended up replacing the entire regulator with a part I ordered online. So far so good."

I have a 2002 chevy silverado and i have changed the switch and the motor on the passenger side window and it still doesnt work

If you changed the switch in the passenger door, the problem may be in the master switch in the driver's door. It powers the passenger side switch.

I have a 2002 chevy silverado 1500 5.3 liter. The drivers side window works good up and down but the passengers side window does not go up or down with no sound either. I cant run the passengers side...

Check the fuse first then with the interior lights push the window button. If the light dim the window motor is bad, if nothing happens then there is a switch problem. I'm betting on the motor.

1989 chevy 1500 silverado

I'm assuming you have power windows, If the switch dies the window won't work, even if one switch is ok the window still wont work. The cheapest way to determine which one it is is to use the lock switches it place of the passenger side window switch. Replace them one at a time to determine which one it is.Once you have it working just replace the faulty switch with a new one.
hope this helps!

2000 GMC Jimmy SLE driver's power window

The same thing happened to my 1999 JMC Jimmy recently. I believe the problem is that your power window motor has most likely gone out or is starting to go out. The motor will need replaced. They are pretty expensive new. I went to a junkyard and got one for around 15 dollars. When mine went bad, I had rolled my window down about three or four inches and it stuck there. I took my door panel off and tapped on the motor while holding up on the window switch and got it to go up after a few minutes. I am replacing my motor today, I'll leave an update here about the outcome when I finish the job. I hope this information helps you.
