Hi.

Check the following in order:

IAC valve wiring, connectors and vacuum hoses.
Look for vacuum hoses that are not connected in general.
EGR valve wiring, connectors and vacuum hoses.
PCV system.
Wiring to the two sensors in the air intake.
Check position of the air intake for leaks. Tighten its screws.
Check wiring in general.
Do a code scanning if you have not found anything so far, check wiring of ECM and O2 sensors.

If the car idles up and down there may be an air leak from air intake or IAC, EGR, there may be a vaccuum leak or PCV system may be malfunctioning. Those are the things to check first and with more attention.

Regards.

Ginko

Honda 2009 Accord LXP high idle all the time goes up more when turning steering wheel

Proper idle speed for this vehicle about 800 RPM; 1200-1400 RPM is indeed too high. This usually occurs due to too much air entering the intake manifold. Air flow during idle is typically controlled by an idle air control (IAC) valve or in newer vehicles (as in this case) an electronic throttle body. The throttle body could be physically binding which could keep the throttle blade open too much. Cleaning the throttle bore and blade is a good first step, but a special function called the "ECM/PCM idle learn procedure" must be performed with an advanced diagnostic scan tool after this repair. Another possible cause for receiving too much air into the intake manifold is a vacuum leak. Vacuum leaks can originate from any area exposed to engine vacuum including the PCV valve, PCV hose, EVAP canister purge valve, throttle body, intake manifold, brake booster hose and brake booster. A diagnostic scan tool capable of viewing live data is a great way to check for vacuum leaks by watching the fuel trim values; if a vacuum leak is present, the computer will be adding extra fuel to maintain the correct air/fuel ratio. Lastly I do want to mention that the idle speed is adjusted higher when the steering wheel is turned or the A/C is turned on. These signals are sent to the ECM from the A/C pressure sensor and power steering pressure (PSP) switch however I've never personally seen either one cause a high-idle concern. I have 1990 ford f150 5.8 liter it idles high when in park and idles about 1200 rpm when in gear and sometimes surges up and down. i have clean the idle control and check showing 12.5 ohms still won&#

One common problem is a vac leak or a sticking throttle plate.
The computer controls idle speed by how much air is allowed into the intake. The idle control valve could be sticking even tho you have cleaned it, or have a faulty motor.

My 2005 altima idles high and engine code

This P0507 code is one that's sometimes triggered on vehicles that have electronic throttle control. That is, they don't have a regular throttle cable from the accelerator pedal to the engine. They rely on sensors and electronics to control the throttle. In this case, the P0507 DTC (diagnostic trouble code) is triggered when the PCM (powertrain control module) detects an engine idle speed that is greater than the desired (pre-programmed) RPM. In the case of GM vehicles (and possibly others) if the idle speed is over 200 rpm higher than expected, this code will be set.

Will not read codes from the OBD connector

Yes the OBD Connector is fused. The fuse is a 15 AMP mini and located in the Fuse block on the Left hand end of the Instrument Panel requiring the Drivers Door to be opened for access. The fuse is located near the bottom of the Fuse Panel. It probably also feeds the Cigar Lighter circuit.

99 chevy silverado Unstable idle when it worms up

Check the engine mountain rubbers ,, one or more of them is broken and needs to be replaced.

pop the hood, start the vehicle and move it from park to drive to reverse with the brake pedal down and you will see the engine moving. the broken mounting rubbers are the cause for this.

You are really onto it! Either the TPS or the cable from the peddle. Do check the cable first. Frankster016
