Heater blowing cold air

1. Check coolant level to ensure full, and thus getting to heater core.
2. If that didnt work, With engine hot and running, and heat on in the truck, feel heater core inlet and outlet hoses at the engine compartment firewall to ensure both are hot an thus getting flow. If not the core is clogged or there is a faulty valve in the flow path.
3. If te hoses are hot there is flow thru the core and either your blend door is broken and shut or the blend door motor or circuitry is bad.
4. You tube Ford Ranger blend door for video on how to access behind the glove box. You can fairly easily remove the motor and undoing so check its operation and also the blend door operation.
Likely your motor has gone bad and can be replaced using a low profile socket wrench to remove the 3 Screws holding it in place. I bought a new motor for $40 at One o te auto parts chains locally.
Good luck!

The performance of the heater indicates low coolant level. Pretty strange about the multiple water pumps, but if is is under warranty, you need to keep going back to the dealer. They must be missing something...

when car is at operating temp both heater pipes should be more or less the same temperature. If one is cold, try getting the car up in the air so the radiator or expansion tank is higher than the heater...release (carefully) the pressure cap and give the engine three good revs, see if any air comes out and heater pipes equalise. I there is no air in your system you may have a heater water valve fault. Try to locate valve and see what contols it (mechanical , electrical, vacuum)..maybe itcan be manually moved to open, maybe it neds to be replaced.
If you replace it, the air must be bled from the cooling system (see above), but run car until warm with cap off and air will bubble out.
always check coolant levels later when car is cold. Top up coolant as required.

Heater blows cold air. I have replaced thermostat,

Not an expert by any means, but i know my ranger.. I had a small leak at the top of my radiator that still cooled the engine but didnt have enough pressure to get to the heater. The heater hoses travel up over the engine and just were not gettin anything to my heater core. That or make sure the heater control valve is operating.

Heater in truck blows either cold air or no air.

It sounds like you have air trapped in the cooling system. Try filling the radiator and coolant reservoir cold. Then leave the radiator cap loose and run engine at 1500 rpm until it warms up and the thermostat opens. Make sure heater is on full warm setting.
