You need to go to a parts house and have them read the codes. Most do this at no charge. A blinking service engine light indicates that a problem exists that can cause engine damage. For example, if a spark plug is miss firing it could damage the catalytic converter. The steady light indicates that a code has been recorded.
one thing you can bet the house on ....if a nissan sets a cat converter code...it needs a cat converter...trust me on this.in the last 10 yrs. as nissan master tech i have seen no other cause!
you need to hook up a scan tool to see what fault is causing check engine light.i would be willing to bet you will get a po335 crank sensor or po 340 cam sensor.high failure rate on these vehicles.
Go to Autozone or similar business for a free scan of the computer. The scanner can turn the light off if no other codes (problems) are revealed. Good luck!
Need to disconnect ground to battery before replacing light bulb or fuse will blow. Fuse is located in engine compartment next to windshield washer fluid.
Take it back to where you had it serviced. They probably simply missed connecting the fuel level sensor. The engine light is probably from a missed emissions hose that goes to the gas tank.
