Replaced drum brakes on rear of 2002 ford ranger . now having issues with abs system. is there a reset button or is there something else i need tocheck or fix?

Remove the neg battery terminal for 10 minutes and see if that resets the code,, if not, you need to take it to someone who has a obd code reader, and have them do the reset

sounds like you have it apart and not so sure about reassembly. If these are drum brakes try looking at the drum brake change videos on Youtube, ericthecarguy (ETCG) is a good one. Drum brakes are all basically similar with the main difference usually around self adjusters.
if both lights are on together the car needs to be checked by a professional immediately.
it could be as simple as a loose connection after the work done in march, but both lights together could also mean a MAJOR fault in the ABS system that could result in loss of brakes.
an ABS system is not something that is servicable yourself. it needs professional diagnostic equipment.
i can only recommend that you drive as little as possible, and get the car checked as soon as you can.
The brake pads and shoes are not elec., your abs light is on because your abs computer pick up a bad signal from one of your abs sensor's,, take it to any auto parts or some one like autozone where they can do a code reading and get back us with the code so we can help you diag. your trouble code.
Double check the rear shoes foir heavy glazing and wear. My recomendation would be to replace the rear shoes but to get rid of the issue, to have the drums turned(machined) or replaced.
Check condition of brake drum and brake linings.
Check brake drum not out of round,
Check for fluid or oil leaks in the rear brake area.
Check rear brake proportioning valve is working correctly.
