1996 ford ranger....me and my friend tried to put a new radio in and some wires blew..do you know what fuse number it is in the fuse box.i tried changing it but nothing and also can it be sonething else

Replace the fuse box and fault find before fitting new fuses.

Keith, 1995 ford ranger, looks like interior light fuse is # 27, 10 amp. in interior fuse box panel and module #3 in under hood fuse/relay. Pg. 308 to 315 in the attached manual show fuse locations for all. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

The base radio has two fuses in the I/P fuse block. Fuse 20 7.5 amp and fuse 29 10 amp. It will be obvious which fuse is blown when you inspect them.

The premium radio has the same fuses as the base but also has one in the engine compartment fuse block. Fuse 22 - 20amp.

need to know 8th digit of vin number and which motor you have for diagram and email address to send to

the battery was charged backwards,or the battery is hooked up backwards.

look under the top of the power distribution box it has a diagram.
The max fuse blowing means you have a serious short,a hot wire touching ground perhaps it's broken or pinched somewhere.
