Can't find smog pump for 99 gmc jimmy sle, help dealer keeps ordering secondary air pump. the smog pump is grey not black.

Please take the car for a 60-point inspection at your local dealer and this should tell you everything that needs to be changed in order to pass your smog test.

Also, fumes could be leaking internally, so I would suggest getting a voc dectector to monitor the air quality within your car. If you can't fix the car, get a new one...if for nothing else to protect your life/health. Thank you.

Did someone reset codes and ECM, or disconnect the battery? Use Catalytic converter cleaner and then do a Drive Cycle.

You might check your air pump connections or sensor. The air pump is on the front of the engine below the ac unit. I TOO have a Hanes book but also a Chilton book because 1 covers some things the other does not

It could also be likely the vacswitch on the smog pump is the causes.
