2006 chevy cobalt code po446= check engine light on- how do i reset light

A nice simple answer, you can't. Think of it this way, the car doesn't know you are the owner, and it is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do. You have two computer ECM and BCM, plus the antitheft module and a number of sensors all trying to stop you. All you have to do is the re-learn procedure. Plan B is an auto electrician or alarm / radio installer or auto locksmith.

30 Minute Re-Learn Procedure

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
3. Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds .

if your refering to the check engine light the car has detected a error in itsself have code pulled fix error light will go off

codes cant say anything, and they really cant say theres a hose off. codes only tell what the computer is seeing that it doesnt like.

you have to get the code read. go to any shop or buy a hand held reader to reset/ find the code.

engine light came on once before plugs changed went away now back on steady this time not blinking has loss of power with pedal to floorboard then comes in but when comea to a stop idles like going to die

disconecting the battery should reset the pcm. but you will need to find out what caused the problems.

Your car has a OBD2 hook up under the dash somewhere on the drivers side, You have to have a computer to hook up to that ODB plug and reset it, If you live near a Autozone they will clear the code for you for free, One other thing you try is disconnecting your battery for about 30 mins, that works on alot cars to reset the check light.
