Code P1537$10 whats code and how do I fix it,it is on a 2002 ford ranger with 2.3 liter engine.

anon post no history of car wow NO YEAR> no VIN.
It is no RANGER or is custom none OEM swap job.
. nor what is wrong, (cam changes or spark wires fell off)
no engine told at all (USA car?) (in liters or Cubic Inches)
the service manual covers that.

The F-nnn series goes back to 1973 and over 15 engines +++

but RANGER is a compact truck and is not F250 at all
V8 not found in RANGERS. (promised but not delivered)

(1983-2012) some are MAZDA's what ford calls trucks outside USA, I've no clue. are you?

From the fuel tank along the driver side frame rail up to the engine.

Connect a code reader to find out what codes the computer has in memory.

I recommened only the factory part for this. You can buy it from most full service part stores and not just the Ford dealer. The part is
MOTORCRAFT Part # DY959 [ICM] (Ignition control module) $176.79
You can also mail order it from a site I use called rockauto.com the price given above is from that site.

P1537 - Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open.

You might want to look at the IMRC valve. It is probably sticking from carbon build up? Use top engine cleaner and clean the air plenum.

Once you have done this clear the codes and go for a ride. About 30 miles should do it. If you have anymore codes it will come back up.

New EGR Valve

More than likely the IMRC actuator is bad. See this video for more info and repair info.
