Hello! There are two options in stereo for your vehicle; Base Radio and Premium sound...That is no amplifier with radio and with an Amplifier/CD player for Premium...Which do you have? Also, what make and model are you installing?

Tailights,Dashboard Lights Fuse Keeps Blowing Out

One thing to check and I have come across this a couple of times is that some factory stereos used a black wire for the stereo illumination, if you have wired the black (earth) from the new unit to this wire it will cause the fuse to blow, disconnect the earth from this wire and wire it directly to the vehicle.

you can go to radio shack or other store and buy a plug adapter for your brand of radio that will match both the radio and the cars wiring so all you have to do is disconnect the factory radio and plug in the adapter to the radio and the original car wiring plug and your set to go without figuring out which wires to connect to and removing the possibility of causing wiring problems with the car

what you need is to buy a wiring adapter for your car.it only cost about 15 bucks and plugs right in to your original plugs that were connected to your factory radio.the great thing about this adapter is that you dont hava to cut your original plug off just in case if you ever want to reinstall your original back.also the wires that go to your new headunit are color coded to match the exact colors that you connect to your stereo.you can't mess your connection up because all you have to do is connect each wire to the right color, tape them up,connect your stereo and you have music with all of your speakers working like they should and without any headaches.i hope this info helps.take care and good luck, manny

Problem with aftermarket stereo wireing

seriously the answer is very easy the yellow wire from the deck is constant power weather the truck is on or off it should always be hot. The red is the ignition wire which simply turns the deck on when the ignition key is turned on and the black is ground besides the actual speaker wires these are the only wires that need to be connected. if they are properly connect there is a good chance that there is a short somewhere

Stereo wireing

go to advanced auto parts and buy a connector for your car. just go and give them year, model and make and when you get it connect the same color wires from the stereo to the stereo harness. all of the colors are the same.

Stereo wiring

You might save yourself a lot of headaches by stopping by a car stereo sales/installation place, and ask for wiring adapter harness. They should have an adapter plug that goes from your factory plugs to the new stereo. $10-$20 well spent. You may even find what you need at an auto parts store that sells stereos too, or radio shack.
