SOURCE: 1998 Dodge Neon engine died when valves started knocking and car will not restart.

Check the engine for compression. Your head gasket may be shot. I have a 97 that had a similar problem, and we did the head gasket, car runs fine now. Prior to doing the gasket mine wouldn't start at all.

Do a compression test.

SOURCE: I am changing the alternator in a 1998 dodge neon, need diagram

No diagram...
The pivot bolt is the long bolt that holds the alternator to the frame.
If you loosen it, the alternator can "swing" with the pivot bolt as its .... well, pivot, or swing center.

The long bolt must be removed completely in order to remove the alternator.

Be sure to doisconnect the negative cable from your battery.

Hope this hleps w/o a diagram.

My 1998 Dodge Neon keeps running hot

Make sure your fluid is up where it should be in your rad. Make sure your hoses are not kinked and is your rad clean on the inside. You may have to flush it out.
I would change your thermostat as it could be seized shut as well. I would put a new thermostat before tearing a lot of things apart

Where is the thermostate located on a 2002 dodge neon

The thermostat is normally located in the aluminium elbow that the top radiator hose connects to. The elbow is usually held down by two bolts and it is only necessary to remove these to replace the thermostat. It may not be necessary to remove any hoses. Take care that the new thermostat is correctly located in its recess and the old gasketing has been completely removed and that the new gasket has a smear of gasket cement on it. While tightening the bolts, make sure that the elbow is seating evenly and not catching on the edge of the thermostat or you could crack the elbow.

How much to repair a frozen emergency brake on 2000 dodge neon

The price will depend on what part or parts are frozen and if they can be freed or have to be replaced. There is no way to give an estimate on this type of problem without seeing and working on the car. Certain things you can free up and others you have to replace.
