It sounds to me like you may have a clutch safety switch that is malfunctioning. Check the switch electrical terminals to make sure there is power to the switch. One wire should have power with the key in the START position and the other should not have power until the clutch pedal is depressed. This other wire goes to the solenoid on the starter where you are connecting your screwdriver.

If there is no power at all to the switch, then there is a problem between the ignition switch and the clutch switch. Let me know if this is the case, and I can help you find the cause.

If you have power on BOTH wires when the switch is replaced, then the switch is good and the wire between the clutch switch and the starter solenoid is most likely broken.
If there is power on one wire at the switch and does not put power to the second wire when the pedal is depressed, replace the switch. (See Diagram)

I decided to do the local option only, and they haven't activated local yet. So I have no sales at all, and maybe I never will. Local is a real **** shoot--hoping someone clicking my ad happens to live by me...
I don't want to do the other options, but it's still fun sometimes helping people for free.

Your diagram is below. Since the starter jumps at the solenoid, the problem would be the ignition switch, the clutch interlock, or the wiring. Check for power at the yellow wire that goes to the switch under the clutch pedal when the key is turned to start. If you have power on the red wires to the ignition switch but no power coming out when the key is turned to start, replace the switch. If you DO have power on the yellow wire, try bypassing the interlock by pulling the connector off and connecting the terminals inside the connector with a large paperclip. If that doesn't work, the purple wire from the interlock to the starter solenoid may be broken. Please let me know if you have more questions.

    Hey Jeff!
I haven't seen any of your stuff for a couple weeks now...
Between your wiring diagram and my clutch pedal diagram, I think ALL the bases are covered on this one! (Thumbs Up!)

I hear that! I just thought we lost you completely. At least, (I hope) you are making a couple bucks. This new system that they have is supposed to be this big money-making deal. So far, I have made a whopping $15 in the last 21 days! That is with me being online and available for at least 4 hours every day. That puts me up to...lets see...I think that comes out to about 10.2 cents per hour!
Now we not only have to be automotive experts to make a buck, but we are now also supposed to be marketing experts....after nearly 37 years at twisting wrenches, it's just a little late in life for me to have to learn a new trade!

The wiring diagram above of you do not see power on the yellow wire. feel around the top of the column for a rod to the ignition switch. it its not moving you will need a ignition cylinder key rack. If this is a tilt column it was a common problem. it would not move the rod to the ignition switch if broken but you could jump the starter to start the vehicle. Is there any kind of resistance when you turn the key like a spring back motion? if not i would suspect this part.

There is a safety switch that is mounted on the inside of the cab and when you press the clutch pedal down it allows the starter to turn. It sounds like it is probably worn out. If you look at the inside of the fireewall and close to the top where the pedal is attached, the switch should be in that area

My 85 s10 blazer wont start up at all. battery is good. brand new and tested good. changed the terminal posts also. the lights and everything turn on but when i try to start it, it dont even click or...

could be the ignition switch or the connection wiring. could be the starter or solenoid. if you wanna check your starter, have someone turn the key to try and start it as your underneath and tap/hit the starter with a hammer or a block of wood. of that makes it start then yeah its the starter.

1993 chevrolet s10 blazer 4.3l clicks but wont start

Sounds like you have a bad spot on the starter armateur...and will need to replace the starter.

If its the original, and you have over 50K miles then its probably a safe bet that your starter is bad, and will fail totally soon...if thats not the case now.

Leaking clutch 85 s10 blazer when I bleed the slave cylinder oil leaks out the bell housing

First, unless you have just done some clutch work you should not need to be bleeding the clutch hydraulic system...that shows that it's leaking. There is nothing inside the bellhousing that has anything to do with clutch fluid, so, the fluid you see is either engine or transmission oil (rear main seal or seal on trans input shaft) Could it be that the clutch slave is leaking and it's running down and dripping at the bottom of the housing? (clean it up and check that)
