I have a 1998 chevy astro and for clerification would like to know where the alternator is located.....any help would be appreciated

There is one located in the alternator circuit that ties into the starter on every Astro/Safari van.also from battery to firewall

I belive this year has the electric actuator thatcontrols the blend door, you will ned to unbolt it and turn door then reinstall actuator to hold door in that postion, this is located on heaterbox.

coolant temperature sensor is located next to thermostat housing at front of engine in intake manifold you will see it right next to top radiator hose but this one reports to pcm the one for the gauge in dash or light is on the drivers side cylinder head you will see one little wire going to a sensor screwed in head near second plug back on drivers side

it is on the fuel rail on the engine its next to the fuel line conection from tank to fuel rail for injectors

all newer car have built in regulator in the alternator,have the charging system checked at aotozone parts store ,they dont charge for that ,hope to help you, robert b.

Check the battery contacts for tightness and deposition. Make sure polarity is fine.
Also check the ignition switch

It is located where the big hose comming out of your radiator connects to top of engine. Remove hose from engine your thermostat is undernieth

Sounds like the auto shut down relay. Located somewhere in the front grille/bumper area. Relay triggers on impact to shut down all power in order to prevent fires etc. Great idea but can cause exactly the frustration you are having if you don't know it's there!!
