1997 jeep wrangler heater blowing cold airWhat's your problem?

  • wrang97 Jun 20, 2015

related problem: bought a used 97 4banger jeep. I drained radiator and only got half the fluid. Like any rational human being I jumped up-down on front bumper, which dislodged sludge and rest of water from engine and/or radiator. I flushed system twice, then noticed temp gauge registered low, due to a low temp thermostat installed (to correct high heat problem is seems). I replaced with factory spec thermostat (that computer's programmed to react to) and everything is fine.

2005 jeep wrangler blows warm air not cold

Well this is different since most questions now are about no heat.
If one ac line is cold and the other is warm, I would suspect a blend door under the dash is not working. The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and the vents.

1997 jeep wrangler will not blow hot air from heater,,, i replaced the thermostat ,, heater core isnt leaking, and my heater knobs are working,, it blows somewhat warm air , but doesnt get completely hot,

sounds like either the antifreeze solution is to strong [ shouldn't be more then a 70% mixture ] or the heater core is plugged [ some "stop leak" products will cause this.

1998 Jeep Wrangler not blowing hot air. Fan is blowing cold air. Suggestions?

your heater hose or heater core could be plug, or your flap that opens inside of the heater housing may not be opening like it should. It operates off a vacum line, check all your vacum lines going into your heater housing.
good luck

How often has the coolant been changed? My only guess is that it hasn't and the hoses and the heater core are plugged up with goo and a flush is needed

Heater blows cold air

the electric motor that open the heat door looses electrical connection there by the door stays on cold / it is located under the a/c heater assembly / which requires removing the whole dash and heater assy// also bleed all air out of coolant system
