I need to find out the spark plug fireing order on a 2000 3.8 ford windstar my wires are crossed

May have spark plugs wires on wrong plugs. Firing order:

1, 4, 2, 5, 3, 6

Recharge battery.

This should solve your problem. Firing order 1s 1-4-2-5-3-6. Just connect the tower numbers on the coilpack to the sparkplugs of the cylinders as numbered in the diagram :

The correct firing order diagram for that vehicle is not an easy task to come up with, but try this diagram and it should be the right firing order diagram for that vehicle. Let me know if this does not work out.

• changes low-voltage pulses from the PCM to high-voltage pulses.
• fires 2 spark plugs simultaneously.
• has 3 transformers.
  • One transformer fires the spark plugs for cylinders 1 and 5
  • One transformer fires the spark plugs for cylinders 2 and 6
  • One transformer fires the spark plugs for cylinders 3 and 4

Spark plug wires:

• carry high-voltage pulses from the ignition coil to the spark plugs.

The spark plugs:

• change high-voltage pulses to spark at the gap, which ignites the fuel and air mixture.

The firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6.

Here is the firing order diagram for that vehicle, and if the ignition wires are not crossed then one of the spark plugs might have been damaged while installing it and the spark plug gap closed on one of the spark plugs, or one of the ignition wires (spark plug wires) has been damaged, and if those wires are over 5 years old then you should replace them.
