Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.

A misfire diagnostic code P0300 indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a random misfire code doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.

Symptoms may include the engine may be harder to start, the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate and other symptoms may also be present.

Hope this helps and have a nice day.

Po300 multible misfire-- there are a few causes for this sparkplugs are bad, wires, or a bad coil! if the injectors are plugged up or if there leaking it will set this code. run some good fuel injector cleaner in car, this may be it. if not check out above ok ! it could be numerous problems just check it out. You can also have a vacuum leak where too much unmeasured air is entering the engine. but most of the time its in ignition system. plugs, wires, etc.

Mis fire on cyclinder one and overheating for an 2005 Chevrolet equinox

You are describing the classic symptoms of a blown head gasket from the cylinder into the water jacket. This causes loss of compression in the affected cylinder and also injects hot gases into the cooling jacket resulting in overpressure and overheating of the coolant. Perform a compression check of all cylinders and if any are appreciably lower than the others, you are looking at some major engine work.

If a whole side has failed, as much as I hate to say it, the ECM/PCM has failed. More specifically the "drivers" for the injectors and should also fire spark. Let me know if you need anything else.

I keep getting a misfire in cyclinder 4? the car also now will not accelerate past 3000 rpm's i pulled the plugs and only 4 looks like its not firing i replaced it last week... there is no oil in the water...

The very first thing that you should do next is to take a compression reading especially the #4 cylinder, to determine if the mis-fire is caused by a mechanical problem or an electrical problem. If you are looking for an electrical problem when the problem is actually a mechanical one, you could wind up wasting a lot of money and time.

A mechanical problem that would cause a low compression mis-fire in the engine could be a burnt or bent intake or exhaust valve, a worn out or broken piston or compression ring, or even a warped cylinder head.

An electrical mis-fire would most likely be caused by a faulty ignition coil, a worn out or cracked distributor cap, worn out ignition wires, worn out spark plugs, or a faulty fuel injector.

The service engine light came on and I had parts store check it out and they inform me that cyclinder 4 was mis firing.

Try plugs, plug wires, coil. Check for any coolant pooling above the plug and any sources it may be coming from.
