Check the vent in the gas cap. Vacuum in the tank will build up and prevent fuel flow till relieved. When it won’t start, take off the gas cap and listen for the sound of air rushing into the tank.

SOURCE: Fuel filter changed of Saturn Vue 2002

Never allow Saturn touch a Saturn.
During the oil change, the Saturn dealer loosened the center positive electrical battery cable at the main fuse box, drivers side, under hood.
The loose positive cable results in an electrical surge that wipes out the cps.
The new cps is only avaqilable from Saturn.
When the new cps is delivered, one electrical pen will be bend down and must be straightened prior to insertion of male and female electrical connector to the cps. Otherwise the new cps will fail.
Be certain to tighten the center positive post of three that secure the main fuse box in place. The center post must be tightened to ensure the new cps is not destroyed by subsequent electrical surges which result when Saturn Dealer loosens the center fuse box post.

Remove spark plugs wires at coils.Have someone crank engine, should be spark jumping between coils whil cranking. If not most likely a crank postion sensor located on the rear of engine block. If not that other possibility is a ignition control module located under coils (flat plate w-one connector)Hope that helps

1996 Saturn sl1 was starting on a dime and now wont start

Hi Jennifer, I believe that it purely coincidence that this problem started when your dad drove the car. There is basically nothing he could have done to promote the problem. I believe the fault has something to do with the anti theft device becoming active. If you can manage to have the car diagnostically scanned and the key encodement re activated I'm thinking that will sort out the problem. Even if that is not the problem the diagnostic scan will pin point where the problem is. Regards John

96 grand cherokee 4.0 was would lose power then pick back up was idleing really ruff shut off went back after acouple of hours tried to start then just died won,t start no spark replaced coil wire cap and...

A very similar experience happened yesterday with my son's '95 Cherokee Country, same 4.0L engine. Suddenly jerking, trying to die, then catching again. When he stopped and turned the car off, just like yours, wouldn't start and no spark...and in his case, bad fuel pump, too.
After changing that, we started looking for the no spark problem. First checked the dark green wire (+, or the power feed) to the coil, and nothing there with key on. No voltage. Strange, so I went back and rechecked all the fuses in the little box by the battery. All good (a very easy way to check a fuse is with a testlight: Just clip the lead on the negative battery post and, with key on, use the probe to touch the little slot on each end of the fuse. When ignition key is on, all fuses are powered, and if the testlight lights up on both ends of the fuse, you know it's a good fuse. You don't have to pull it out to check it- it's good.) So fuses were good, and I even swapped relays for the Auto Shutdown Relay, wondering if that could cause no signal to the coil. Still nothing. Because it is so easy to check on a Jeep, I checked another thing that may cause a no start, no spark condition: the Crank Position Sensor. On the rear top of the engine, right above the end of the intake manifold, is the three wire electrical connector for the CPS. To check the sensor, pull the connector apart, and on the sensor side of the connector, check for continuity (with an ohmmeter) between terminals B and C (marked on the connector-although mine weren't). There should be no continuity. That's the only test given for the Jeep's Crank Position Sensor.
Well, in my case it turned out to be a badly mangled pick-up coil assembly inside the distributor. That helps the computer determine crankshaft position and adjust spark timing. You need to start as I did with checking for power to the coil. If you have power there on the green wire with the key on, then start by checking the coil-it can be tested, then check the ignition control module-test it at a parts store, next check the two sensors -CPS and the pick-up coil (on earlier models was referred to as the cam position sensor). The distributor is a pain to remove and install, if you have to.. You may need to consult a repair manual for proper installation. I hope you find your problem. One last tidbit: this is my son's second Jeep he bought with the motor mount on the passenger side (right by the distributor) missing all the bolts for the mount's bracket onto the engine block. It made the engine sag to that side, and may have bumped the distributor housing hard enough to destroy his pickup coil. So do check your engine mount on that side.od luck.

2002 saturn sl won't start, turn over but won't start

Done cars have a kill switch if they are low on oil. Check your oil. If the oil is good, it may be the ignition switch.

GMC 2000 sierra pick up 1500 sounds like it wants to start but won't turn over. Battery sounds good so I guess battery and alternator are ok. For several years fuel gauge doesn't work and...

It sure could be. But, first...by "won't turn over" you do mean it cranks at normal speed but won't start?
A simple test of the fuel pump is to stand by tank and listen as someone turns key to on. When first turned to on, your pump will activate for 2 or 3 seconds, pressurizing the fuel system, and then shut off if the engine computer doesn't get a cranking signal. Do you hear it come on? If not, then something's not turning your pump on. If you can hear it buzz on briefly, then maybe it's your filter. Another test: Spray a little starting fluid into your intake manifold (remove the big hose going into intake manifold) while someone tries starting it.If it doesn't fire and try to stay running, then it's probably an ignition problem. But if it does fire off, then you know it's a fuel problem-likely your pump or filter. good luck.

Our 2003 Saturn L200 turns over, but won't start...like it's not getting gas. This just started happening and only after we've already driven it that day. The first time it happened was...

Check fuel pressure at the injector rail. If good, suspect crankshaft position sensor--when it fails to start, check for sparks by pulling an ignition wire off the coils and holding it close to the coil with an insulated tool while someone cranks the engine. If no sparks, replace the sensor.
