Look for labels on your turn signal switch (lever) that say on, off, set/accel, resume. If you don't find these on the lever and they don't appear as buttons on the steering wheel, which they probably don't on the Escort and Tracer models, then your vehicle may not have come equipped with this option.

Interior fuse block, 15 amp meter fuse, says speed control among other systems. If it was the fuse, there would be other systems having problems.

first of all did you check the fuse! if ok check the cable from throttle body to speed control or cruise. on a few ford products before 2005 have a recall for the cruise control. call ford dealership to find out.

Fuse is marked "ASC" 10A Speed Control (passenger compartment fuse box), most likely this will not be the problem, and if th fuse blew then there is a short and it won't work, the most common cause is the cruise control switch circuit.
