My ac and heater are stuck in defrost and i cant figure out why i turn the dial to vents and heat but it stays in defrost

I turn the dials and nothing happens the fan blows the defrost but wont go to the vents how come??

It all depends on whether your truck is equipped with Automatic Climate Control or Manual HVAC. You could have a broken control head assembly a broken mode door cable, a failed electronic mode door actuator, a broken mode door, or a loose or broken wire or connector.

To put it simply, your mode doors are not swithching modes - the reason for this can vary depending on which system you have.

your car's heater core might be malfunctioning or their might not be enough coolant (or hot coolant) to heat the inside of your vehicle. Please first ensure that your coolant is not running low (if so, you can add more) and then allow a place like autozone to perform a quick check on your heater core to see if it needs to be replaced.

Defrorstores stay on ,try to change to floor, ac, heat vent ,deforstores still on 1995 thunderbird lx blower motor works great.

Some cars use vacuum from the engine to open and close the doors that direct the air to different positions. It is possible that the vacuum line to the controls is cracked or disconnected.

2008 Nissan xterra with heat stuck on. My dash got taken apart for a cd deck change and the controls for my heater/ac system got unplugged and plugged during the process. Now the only control in the set...

Possibly the plugs either aren't connected properly or incorrectly plugged. Recheck the plugs. Also check fuses, maybe one blew while it was being plugged. The work should have been done with the battery disconnected for that reason.

Ac light stays on when heat is on

My manual stated that the light stays on but the ac is NOT running. Only the motor for it is running. If you tweak the heat selection dial just to after the floor vent symbol (just a cm or 1/8") past it, it will turn off. It irritated me and I played with it until went off.

Did something fall down in one of the vents? Sounds like a blend door is not able to fully move for some reason. If it's still under warranty take it to the dealer.

go by liquid coolant and check ur heat and ac fan it might be stuck or broken

Check the control cable that operates the diverter door in the heater box at both ends, to make sure that it operates the door when you move the control lever.
