I have had & serviced a 2000 Lincoln & 2004 Lincolns....
(and the FACTORY WORKSH MANUALS FOR EACH)
Performing every oil change myself.
If you have an oil light and your engine is not clattering
you might want to consider replacing the oil pressure sender switch ...
ELSE
You have an Oil Pump/worn-engine issue to be looking at...
(FREE schematic assessable at BBB Industries site at very bottom (Real diagrams = registration required).
If your car has a light control module, this may be your problem. If so, it's not hard (but pricey) to replace. As you're sitting behind the wheel, the LCM is under the dash just up from your right foot. Check online parts store for a picture.
Fuel pumps outside the gas tank have nothing to do with fuel gauge readings. There is a fuel level sender unit inside the tank with a float which supplys variable ground circuit to the gauge. If you can find the wire to this unit, you can ground it to see if the gauge now goes to full. If so, sender unit in tank is bad, or has bad wiring/ground.
odometer issue hits all saturns 91-95 eventually, they sell kits on ebay to fix it but you will have to pull the cluster, take it apart and reassemble it. not worth it on a 500 dollar car.
fuel gauge you need a new sender unit, sits in the gas tank with the fuel pump, replace both when you go to that much trouble to drop the gas tank out to get to it.
horn sits under the driver's headlight. jumper the battery to it and if it works then your problem lies with the relay, or more likely the horn switch inside the steering wheel. if it does not work with jumper then you can buy a generic horn at a parts store.
Don't know your Lincoln model, but replacing the headlight bulb can be OK...inpect the underhood location of the Headlight assembly...review the back side, which holds in the bulb...you can check your local parts store for exactly which bulb your model needs...be sure to use gloves when handling the new bulb...the natural oil on our fingers will cause the new bulb to wear out prematurely...Most headlight assemblies are fully removal from the car allowing you to switch out the bulb from the backside...reassemble, and be sure to test before final assembly...Bulbs will range from $8. to over $50...depending on design and preferred performance...Hope this helps.
