sounds like a nuclear disaster is immanent at an moment...It has something to do with the cooling system fluid level.

This seems very very common... I managed to frig one recently by joining two wires at the switch end together.. Without looking I can't tell you which, but it was simple logic to work it out.. Desparation made me try, but it took 10 mins. From (my sometimes lame) memory I think one of the grounds was missing, one of the pins will have no voltage on it relative to either ground or 12v, it'll be that one!
The car was wrote off about two weeks later, poor pug..

did you try the spare key? are you sure it is an immobilizer light? what does the warning light look like, can you describe it? replacing the battery in the key will not help as it is not needed for the recognition of the key(this is done by an induced current).
