Driving my 91 volvo 740 and it will stall then wait acouple of min. starts right up why

Check first these two:
First - Fuse
Second - Relay

I'v had that same issue. It turned out the be the fuel pump. I replaced the one in the tank as well as the one under the driver seat under the car.

when car dies check for spark if you have no spark check the igniter and coil as well as spark plugs cap and rotor

i had same problem. it was the starter.

check overdrive or shift fuses. look in owners manual for location

HAVE IDLE SPEED CHECKED AND ADJUSTED.IT SUPPOSE TO BE 750 TO 775 RPMS.

Could be that there is a clog at the tank-there is a screen there- can be accessed through access panel behind rear seat- also try taking off fuel line at engine and starting engine--if there is fuel present then I would rule out the tank screen problem. Good luck--let me know if that helps. C

TRY ANOTHER FUEL PUMP AND FUEL FILTHER THESE PUMPS ARE FUNNY ON VOLVOS HAD SAME PROBLEM ON 850 TURBO AND SURE ENOUGG IT WAS THE PUMP
